Man, I hate saying goodbye to my son. You'd think I'd be used to it by now, but it just gets harder and harder. Trusting in God to help get through this not so fun patch while trying to be fun for him.

@preta_6 Depends where you live Amy. In an established neighborhood with a parent at home, yes there are kids all about. But in the average world, both parents are working ("equality") and the kids go to camp. Camp is also fun for the kids and they have structure.

My oldest has been off summer camp for a while and it dismays me that there are no other kids around, playing outside, during the daytime. I had envisioned him having fun outside with friends on these summer days while I work from home. It’s a ghost town…

Most people get into trading for the same reason: make some extra money and improve their life Along the way most people focus however on how to make that money as fast as possible. This is the wrong approach. The approach should be how can I get to a point quickly where I can relatively consistently be green every month. Start there. When you start on average, even $100 a day can make a decent difference to your life at the end of the year. It can pay some bills, a few extra payments on your mortgage, a vacation or it gives you options to invest in yourself People forget to account for the fact that losing money is not only lost capital, lost time but also causes a lot of added stress mentally. It affects your daily life, your mood, things at home. This only leads to more spiraling in an effort to make money back. Some never get out of this loop. But if you want my advice, just give yourself time and grace. None of this is easy which is why most cant make it. But if you are patient both with yourself and overall, after the initial learning phase you will get to a point where you can make that 100 bucks with relative consistency. From there on, its just numbers, then you shoot for 200, 500 etc. On a monthly level thats 10k, so 6 figures in annual income. That alone for a vast majority of people is a game changer. 500 bucks a day. So dont lose sight of the long term picture here. We go through the initial pain so we can enjoy the fruits of both our labor and the time we put in. Dont do a disservice to yourself by being short sighted or just focus on making money today or tomorrow or this week. Think about how you can do so for 20 30 40 years. When you think in those terms, taking 3-5 years to get decent is not a big sacrifice. As in all things in life, operate under the right frame and don’t have unrealistic expectations.
