@SimonCheapGrace
English husband + dad living in Tennessee, currently writing about how my former church mishandled a sex offender https://t.co/ZXWmIxuMiU

Robert Morris spent only 6 months in jail for the sexual abuse of a child, which is why the criminal justice system is not a final solution for sex offenders. They require round-the-clock community surveillance, and even covert operations, to secure a safer future for children.

Yes, they’re lying. They are always lying. They always have to. So I will propose an alternate theory: Maybe it’s not just cognitive dissonance. Maybe if entire congregations were polygraphed you’d find: more than 10% of men, and 4% of women, regularly fantasize about minors.

@defundthedmv I’m trying to grab the quote the host gave from the journal of psychology and it’s nearly impossible, if you grab it can you share it? You have the ability that I do not lol!

@SacrdCowTipping @creation247 Even if they do— pastors are a bit trapped. They don’t know what else to do. That would be a scary place. And people are so invested in them, some would lean on them to just keep the status quo.

I’m praying for Sam Allberry today as a large part of the evangelical world publicly dumps on him as if they are not wretched sinners in need of God’s grace. A pastor’s response to sin should be like that of Jesus in the entirety of John 8.1-11.
