“Trade unions use force.” said by Friedrich Hayek, whose beloved “Chicago Boys” helped impose free-market economics under Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship in Chile after the overthrow of a democratically elected government. Meanwhile, workers who refuse the boss’s terms risk losing wages, healthcare, housing, and sometimes even food itself. Capital calls that “freedom.”
F. A. Hayek Quotes@FAHayekSays

“Trade unions in the course of time were granted privileges which the ordinary citizen has not—essentially various uses of force and violence to prevent others from working at the terms that they work.” — Friedrich Hayek

@RetroCoast There's no such thing as free, and anything government funded is going to be crazy expensive and terrible. We are nearing inexpensive robotaxies, underground transport, electric jets, and point-to-point passenger rockets. They sound like wonderful dreams to me.

@philippilk People with 70 IQ cannot maintain a high-tech economy. If America wants to import Africans and not have them be a burden it needs to start a large-scale crash program of nutrition for young African women and babies.

Jeffrey Epstein was a Democrat donor and Obama supporter. Trump and Epstein had a falling out and never spoke after they got in a feud over a house they both wanted in 2004, well before Epstein’s sex crimes were exposed by his first criminal conviction in 2008. Progressives like to talk about how Trump’s name appears hundreds of times in the Epstein files, but this is because Epstein was an MSNBC-watching boomer lib who was constantly complaining about Trump to anyone who would listen to him whine. There are no communications between Trump and Epstein in any of the emails. A lot of people seem to believe that the Epstein files contain emails between Trump and Epstein, but this is progressive misinformation. The fact that so many people think this is also evidence of the fact that public perception of the Epstein files is mostly based on memes and people don’t have any idea what the Epstein files are, or what they contain.

Out of all the imperialist powers, objectively speaking, the US did the least damage to China. So there is no deep historic hatred for the US, the animosity towards the US is caused by 3 aspects: 1️⃣US support of Taiwan separatists. 2️⃣The US trying to stifle Chinese growth, manifested in the form of the trade and tech war. 3️⃣Less so in recent years; The US desire for regime change in China. Of the 3, the 3rd one is becoming ineffective, as Chinese institutions and system matures and strengthens, the 2nd is somewhat understandable from the perspectives of Americans, no one wants to give up power. So the main problem, and the core of China-US animosity revolves around Taiwan. Supporting Taiwan is increasingly a liability for the US, because this stumbling block fundamentally forbids full normalization of China-US relations. But the Taiwan lobby is the 3rd most pervasive in the US, after Israel and GCC lobby groups. Hence the pro-Taiwan stance of US politicians are the result of bribery and corruption. And the ridiculous notion that the US will fight a war on Taiwan's behalf is the fantasy made up by anti-China shills online. There will be a time when the American ruling class realize Taiwan is more trouble than it's worth, and give it up. They've already made concessions throughout the decades; How many pro-Taiwan shills know the US deployed nuclear weapons in Taiwan until 1972? The US position on Taiwan is in constant retreat. Giving them up fully may come sooner than you think.

Former U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Netanyahu: He told me in July 2009 that the Iranian regime was fragile and would crumble at the first attack. I told him then he was dead wrong — that he was underestimating the resilience of the Iranians. This is what he's been trying to sell for years.

@clashreport Bibi was right back then but US allowed the regime to thrive and get stronger in the past two decades. In 2009, was a lot easier to topple the regime than now that they’ve developed their high-range missiles and also enriched uranium.

The genie is out of the bottle. The toothpaste is out of the tube. There is nothing that can be done to get people to like jews and Israel again. It doesn’t matter what strategy you come up with or what personality they get to push it, you are only marking yourself as an enemy of humanity when you are caught trying to steer the conversation away from antisemitism

I work for one of the largest distribution co’s in America (won’t say). In Feb26 we were paying low $2/unit of diesel. Industrial vol. pricing, multiple times/mo at dozens of DCs. We are now paying nearly $5/unit across multiple industrial fuel vendors. Apocalyptic.

Vancouver is rough these days. I went for a long walk last night and it’s shocking how many stores and restaurants and cafes have recently gone out of business. And of course the hobo situation is still appalling. We’re lucky we have all this natural beauty to boost our spirits.
