They cross-question the opposition like it's a courtroom. They grill ordinary citizens like they're hiding something. They treat government press notes sacrosanct. And this is exactly why a foreign journalist can walk in and cause chaos with barely any effort. She isn't checking anyone's press card. She's watching for panic. The kind of panic you see when someone who's used to softball questions suddenly gets a real one. Watch her replies. Watch their responses. It's like poking a beehive, except the bees are all wearing blazers. She's basically doing biology field work at this point. Discovering a new species. Watching how it behaves when startled. Mumbai - A shocking incident occurred inside a lift of the Sheth Irene high-rise tower in Malad West, when a pet dog suddenly turned aggressive and tried to attack three young girls. CCTV footage that has now gone viral on social media, a woman entered the lift with her dog, where three girls were already present. Moments after the lift doors closed, the dog suddenly became aggressive and lunged towards the girls. The women inside the lift panicked as the dog tried to pounce on them. The woman owner was seen desperately trying to control her pet and restrain it. When the lift doors opened, one of the girls tried to rush out, but the dog again attempted to chase her. The owner managed to hold the dog back, preventing a potentially serious incident. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the episode. However, the frightening visuals have caused fear among residents of the building.

BREAKING: For 10 years the world believed there was one way to reuse a rocket: land it upright on its engines, the way SpaceX does. Today China refused to copy it, and pulled off something SpaceX never managed on a first flight. It caught the rocket instead. The Long March 10B lifted off from Hainan, China this morning, and about 6 minutes later its first stage came back down toward a 25,000-ton ship at sea. It did not land. Hooks on the falling booster snagged a net of tensioned steel wires strung across the deck, the wires riding robotic rails that slid into place to meet it. No landing legs. No touchdown. A rocket plucked out of its own descent by a moving net, on the maiden flight of a brand-new vehicle. No one handed China this. SpaceX guards its rocket tech as “trade secrets”, not “patents”, precisely so it cannot be read and copied. China watched a decade of public flights and then built an entirely different machine to reach the same prize, catching instead of landing, which sheds the heavy legs and spares the fuel a soft touchdown burns to hover. And this was never about cheaper satellites, though it delivers those too, feeding the thousands of birds in China's Starlink rival. Its deeper purpose is the Moon. That booster shares its core with the rocket meant to land Chinese astronauts on the lunar surface by 2030. In the same season, America's own Moon rocket, Starship, has flown 12 times and still has not shown the single maneuver its lunar plan depends on. One flight does not dethrone SpaceX. It has landed hundreds. What ended today is not SpaceX's lead. It is Uncle Sam’s belief that it owns the only road to the Moon. The piece works out which way of coming home actually wins.

Look closely at the timeline, and the pattern becomes difficult to ignore. India imports more than 85% of its crude oil and accounts for 30% of oil demand growth globally. On 5 June, India took a major step towards reducing that dependence by launching E85 fuel for flex-fuel vehicles at Rs 20/litre cheaper than normal E20 fuel, along with the launch of flex fuel cars and bikes. Soon after, a coordinated controversy around ethanol-blended fuels began to dominate the conversation and fearmongering started. Consider the facts. E15+ has been used on Indian roads for over three years. E19+ for over 2 years. E20 has been available since April 2025. More than 20 crore two-wheelers and over 20 lakh four-wheelers have been running successfully on E20 fuel for nearly two years. Yet, as India accelerated its journey towards greater energy self-reliance, opposition to ethanol blending suddenly intensified. It is worth asking: who benefits if India remains dependent on imported crude oil or batteries. Every litre of ethanol blended into petrol helps reduce crude oil imports, strengthens India's energy security, reduces air pollution, supports domestic farmers, and saves valuable foreign exchange. Greater use of indigenous fuels also makes the country less vulnerable to geopolitical disruptions and global price shocks. E20 is a widely tested, verified, scientific, internationally proven and completely safe fuel for our vehicles. In a different context, an Indian customer of some of our products told me recently "A big Microsoft Office license renewal came up and they hiked the price drastically. We told them we are looking at the Zoho office suite and they dropped the price by 90%" - he thanked me for saving them big money, even without buying our office suite. If you are facing renewal of Microsoft Office license, I suggest you mention Zoho. Some history: Microsoft is a convicted monoplist by a US Federal Court (April 2000) and the monopoly finding but not the suggested remedy was upheld by the U.S Court of Appeals (DC circuit) in 2001. Microsoft has a long illustrious history of milking the customer dry (see the AI link below for details). Competition is always important. The fact that American AI models have serious competition from China is important for India and other countries. Finally, I am now confident that India will catch up in AI models. There is no reason to be despondent. There are multiple efforts going on in academia and industry and the cost to train AI models is starting to fall. Recently I met people from the BharatGen team (IIT Bombay) and they are making great progress. I will write more about BharatGen soon.
