One of the things I value most about @AR_Extension is the role county agents play. County demonstrations happen because agents know their growers, fields, and local challenges. This year I will have a few soil fertility demos too 🌾🌱 Last Friday was spent collecting N-STaR samples with Chris in Craighead County and delivering fertilizer for a P and K demo with @faulkneruada in Faulkner County. Super grateful with them for their time and support!

Busy week planting cotton and soybean trials at Rohwer Research Station. The station staff did a great job dodging the wind and getting fields sprayed behind us. Also breaking in a new infurrow / 2x2 system designed by @DavisSprayGuy (that's why I'm standing on the planter).

Taproot decline of soybean has a common denominator. Dig around long enough and you’ll likely find blackened residue from the previous season that harbors the fungus. Roots of developing soybean plants come into contact with the residue and you get taproot decline #mscrops @MSSOY

Rated a fungicide trial on wheat this afternoon in Carlisle with Lonoke County Ag agent Trapper Padgett. Drone compared to ground application. There was a fair amount of leaf rust in this trial.

Got all of our taproot decline trials in at Jerome today. Just had to dodge a shower or two.

#Wheat plots at Marianna are really growing with warm temps this week. Dry weather has wheat looking excellent. I found very low levels of stripe rust - no treatment is needed currently, but will watch how it may progress.
