As a Canadian, who has heard this "51st State" garbage be said about my nation, let me tell you what they really mean. They do NOT mean, incorporate Japan (or Canada, etc) into America Propper. That would mean that each Prefecture would become a State, or a few Prefectures would be grouped together to become a State. What they mean when they say that your country will become the "51st State" is that your country will become a Protectorate of the US. What that means is that your nation would become legally the same as: Guam, Midway, Porto Rico. Your nation would belong to the US and would have to obey every last dictate of the US, but you would NOT be part of the USA, nor have any representation in the US Government (maybe a single Representative in The House) It is not a compliment, nor a good thing. Japan is doing fine on its own, and deserves to be run by and for the Japanese People.

@Cecil_Stinger Thats a Prairiefire Crabapple tree, and it is absolutely beautiful, but it only blooms the pink flowers for a short time in the spring. But I love the Japanese Yoshino Cherry Trees... one of my favorites. Japan gifted several to Colorado and they are around the capital here.
