should I play FF7 Remake now that I’ve played the original FF7 and everything within the compilation? 🤔 It’s been a good 4 years since I’ve played Remake, and I feel like I’ve missed out on a lot of things concerning the “new” story. If so, Should I stream it or play offscreen?

@natisneato I had a similar thought today. It tells you what you need to know, leaves you to use your imagination to fill in the details. Like some of the end-game boss fights have you fighting in spaces that don't look entirely tangible in a realistic sense, and it's awesome

I think it's very common for people to go back to acclaimed, classic RPGs like chrono trigger and be confused when they're more impressionistic with great abstraction in the way the world and narrative is depicted compared to the very naturalistic approach modern RPGs take

Seeing a lot of posts saying Chrono Trigger's, "pacing is perfect."
My experience with the game is the 2nd half trades on-rails structure for openness, but it comes at a cost no clear direction, no urgency. I found myself asking, “what am I supposed to be doing?” the whole time.

@Shwimswop @ChronoKatie The first part of ff7 remake gets sooooo close to this but the game grinds to a halt if you want to do the side quests. The pacing incredible if you ignore them, hojos lab is the only place it starts to slog.

Code Geass has it's flaws but they're just so small and overwhelmed by the shows positives.
The Euphy scene can be seen as "convenient" in timing and while I may have had an issue with it if it led to Lulu gaining an easy W, it does the exact opposite and makes his and everyone else's lives much harder, along with having buildup.
I also think it's important to note CG draws from Shakespearean Tragedies where there's a focus on the dramatic and intense suffering, so I think it fits pretty well.
The character dynamics and the domino effect everything leads to is just so great imo.

Code Geass fans aren’t blindly defending the Euphemia scene we know it’s flawed. You can love a series and still admit when a major moment feels rushed or contrived. Both things can be true. Nuance exists, people.
