Kaelon Black, Jordan James, Isaac Guerendo, Ty Davis-Price, Trey Sermon, Elijah Mitchell, and Joe Williams. Those are the RB picks for San Francisco since Kyle Shanahan got there. When you compare NFL Mock Draft Database projected draft capital to actual draft capital, the only player who wasn't considered a reach was Elijah Mitchell. Every other one was a reach, per Chase Stuart's draft value chart. Davis-Price, Black, and Joe Williams are 3 of the 6 biggest non-Round 1 reaches in my database since 2016, when the mock draft data became available. It's just wild that this keeps happening. Hopefully Black bucks the trend.

Nathan Eovaldi has given up 3 HR on 7 pitches. Don’t know if I’ve seen someone give up that many HR on as few pitches.

@BiasedHouston Magic rushed the process when they signed KCP to $22 million a year. Then had to attach picks to have Memphis take that contract for Bane. Think Paolo is still talented but bad front office moves stunted his growth.

Paolo Banchero has struggled tremendously all season, and tonight was a one game sample of what’s gone wrong. He cannot shoot, he’s very turnover prone, he’s not an explosive athlete, and the Sixers were actively hunting him on defense at times. He’s young so I’m not saying it’s over, but it’s not looking good, ESPECIALLY when you factor in his contract.

I don’t think people appreciate how quickly the Wizards front office was able to shed salary and accumulate draft picks. That doesn’t happen if Deni is on the roster

@SamQuinnCBS Winger and Dawkins went in to do a full rebuild. Deni would be at ~$16 million and in line for a huge extension, and Wiz would have to pay him. All of their trades were to shed salary cap and take on bad contracts and accumulate draft picks.

At this moment Deni Avdija has a more promising future than any of the players they tanked for. Maybe lottery night changes that, and they certainly got unlucky last year, but even if the process made sense, they fundamentally misevaluated their own player.

@enosarris Thought it was odd Houston had him throw 102 pitches in his first game of the season. Not saying that did it, but Astros training staff doesn’t make the best decisions regarding players health

Man I really thought Hunter Brown was an A health grade guy. I suppose he throws hard but otherwise seemed like a clean bill. Only a handful of guys had better health grades preseason.

You wouldn’t take a layup and make it a 4 point game, just because you’re giving a possession back to UConn, So if that’s the scenario and UConn is pressing 5, no reason to only have 3 in the backcourt

@TripPlayFantasy @heathcummingssr They had a deep outlet on either side of the court so that gives him two possible passing lanes. I don't hate it for spacing but Ngongba probably does drift too far down the court.

I have seen a lot of *lessons* to be learned from this. The one I can't wait to talk to my 8th graders about on Tuesday night is the dribble Cayden takes. IMO, that is where the breakdown happens. Turn and face before you dribble and you probably avoid what happened. That being said, Cayden was awesome in that game and the loss is not any more on his shoulders than it is on Scheyer, Evans, or Foster.

@SethDavisHoops @rotobrady Disagree on point 2. Put more pressure on the other team. They have to hit the first free throw. Even if they miss both, you’re still up by one. Giving them the three allows them to tie it with one possession. The team that usually hits the 3 has momentum going into OT

Some thoughts on the epic end of regulation in Kentucky-Santa Clara: 1. Herb Sendek was trying to call time out but the refs didn't see it. This is why I do NOT like the rule allowing coaches to call time out. Do you want refs looking at the bench or the court? That rule went away a few years ago but the coaches wanted it back. Get rid of it! 2. There's still some debate over whether fouling up three is the right strategy, but the evidence is quite clear. Fouling up three with under five seconds to play pretty much doubles your chances of avoiding overtime. No strategy is perfect but it is the right thing to do! 3. That said, it's hard to execute that in a scramble like in this case. Don't always assume the players know how many points they're up in that situation! Lots going on and they're not all totally locked in. Happens more than you think. So the question is what have you practiced for? What's your policy? They need to be properly trained for when the moment comes, whatever you decide. 4. At the end of the day, it was a crazy, halfcourt, banked in shot. Hoop happens! And so Otega Oweh shot himself forever into NCAA Tournament lore. Somewhere Cawood Ledford is smiling!

@heathcummingssr Went to VA beach for vacation during football season. Hit a sports bar for TNF. All they had was NBA replays on the TV. A customer had to log into their Roku on multiple TVs so everyone could watch. Seems like this is more common than we think.

Went to a sports bar today to watch the tournament. We'd been there before, good food, good beer. Walked in and they had zero tournament games on. "Working on it." After one beer they still had zero games on. Mostly baseball and football re-runs on the TVs...a few TVs with a tournament app on, but "free trial expired.". Obviously, we left. I still don't actually understand any of it. How do you own a "sports bar" and not plan on having all the games on all day on one of the most important sports days of the year?
