🇺🇦 🇪🇺 🇺🇳 Strengthening CBRN Prosecution Capacities in Ukraine ⚖️ Addressing crimes involving chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) materials requires specialised legal expertise. Organised under the 🇪🇺EU CBRN Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence Initiative, funded by the EU via EU in emergencies, a follow-up training course strengthened the ability of Ukrainian prosecutors and judges to handle these complex cases. Key highlights 🔹26 prosecutors and judges from across Ukraine participated 🔹Legal qualification and prosecution of CBRN crimes were examined 🔹Evidence handling in CBRN cases was addressed 🔹Mock trials tested procedures using realistic scenarios The training was implemented with the support of 🇺🇳 UNICRI in cooperation with 🇺🇦 the Prosecutors' Training Centre and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine @GP_Ukraine. The initiative also benefited from the logistical and financial support of the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU). 🧭 Building strong legal capacities helps ensure that CBRN crimes can be investigated, prosecuted and adjudicated effectively.
