#CTBTO seismoacoustic engineer Gregory Brenn and the engineering team from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, supported by crew from the S/V Pelagic 77 Amundsen, managed the challenging voyage through the Drake Passage to install the final infrasound station on Antarctica, and what will be the last of the 39 facilities in the United States. And they did it in just 20 days. 🚢 Despite variable weather, brash ice, and curious wildlife 🐧, the team worked tirelessly to install the first four elements before the Antarctic winter sets in. With #infrasound data now flowing to the #IDC 📡 for testing we hope IS54 will soon join certified stations AS106 and RN73 at Palmer Station and play a critical role in enhancing nuclear test explosion detection capabilities for years to come. Sincere thanks to #USA, @doddtra and @uafairbanks
