@VRDesktop Platform stability is everything for devs building serious apps. Thermal throttling and random A/B tests breaking things mid-session is rough. Developers deserve a predictable runtime environment.

Almost a year later and that bug is still there, not to mention the FPS degradation after 30min of play and random broken things with Meta’s A/B tests. What a disaster.

State of the Quest ecosystem: Horizon home is stuck loading forever with CPU cranked to 8. By the time you launch your app, the headset can't keep the cpu at level 8 so loading is sluggish and the SoC is at high temperature. It's been like this for 8 months...

@thedowd Agree that motion control is what makes VR feel like a different medium, not just stereo 3D. And lowering the friction to get there with existing hardware like Joy-Cons is a clever move for adoption.

I suspect most VR games today are just as much fun, or even more fun, without the downsides of a headset but the benefits of motion controls. Motion control probably adds more to many games than stereo 3D. VR really won't take off until software that is also worth putting a headset on comes along!

@iVRy_VR Smart approach. Repurposing existing controllers lowers the barrier to entry for spatial apps. DualSense haptics could actually add a lot to VR interactions on Vision OS.

Throwing sticks with a gamepad in VR. The (BETA) iVRy app for Vision OS allows a gamepad to be used as a motion controller (with haptics and kinematics). Sony DualShock and DualSense support both on Vision OS, so a Sony gamepad can be used in place of motion controllers.

I flew all the way to New York to check out the new MemoMind One smart glasses 👓 @MemoMindLabs is a new sub-brand by @XGIMITech, and honestly these look really promising. They’re super thin and lightweight, look almost like regular glasses, but have a built-in display. Connected to your phone, you can see reminders, daily tasks, notifications, get answers from an AI assistant and much more. Launching soon on Kickstarter. I’m really excited to see new players entering the smart glasses space. Also stayed for the XGIMI x EA Sports FC 26 partnership celebration after the event 🎉

💡What if I could fully turn an existing full-scale VR/MR game into a mini tabletop game? Honestly, this just took 6-7 prompts + a few android permission changes to enable hand tracking. The results 🤯 and this used to take me a while because I had to manually resize and adjust everything before I could even make it work. This is exactly why Unity AI and their exposed MCP tools are such a big deal for developers.
