Absolutely unhinged attack from Josh Gottheimer on his potential future New Jersey delegation colleague @HamawyForNJ: "I have serious questions and deep concerns about his associations with terrorist organizations." While Hamawy was a medical student and enlisted in the Army, he volunteered to do medical work amid the genocide in Bosnia for 5 weeks in '94. An organization he was placed with was later raided as a front for Al Qaeda a decade later. For @RepJoshG that is enough to make the statement above. This would be censure-worthy if it was in a different direction.

The NYPD has just coined the term "anti-tech violent extremist activity" in light of the mass opposition to AI and data centers, according to @DRBoguslaw. The New York Intelligence and Counterterrorism Bureau at the NYPD has written a report that includes: "The chaotic atmosphere that may result from emergent AI technology in the next five years may fuel large-scale protests that devolve into civil unrest and anti-tech violent extremist activity, especially in large urban areas such as New York City." 🗳️A recent investigation by The Detroit News found that pro-Israel lobbying group AIPAC has shifted how it funnels money into Rep. Haley Stevens’ campaign as its role in Democratic primaries is increasingly scrutinized. Rather than bundling direct donations under AIPAC’s name, donors are now routed through a third-party processor called Democracy Engine, allowing millions in pro-Israel funding to reach Stevens without AIPAC appearing prominently in campaign filings. The investigation also found that a pro-Israel Super PAC launched a $5.3 million ad blitz backing Stevens ahead of Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary, giving her a massive financial advantage over progressive challengers Mallory McMorrow and Abdul El-Sayed.

it’s actually insane. i was there. the student encampment was peaceful. outside zionist groups constantly harassed them and physically assaulted them. the school let it happen, then deployed the police on the students.

This Home Depot started scanning everyone outside their stores with AI vision models. It's all going into a database that you don't have access to. No permission. No notification. No opt-out. And they can sell it to anyone even government agencies through data exchanges. Like it's nothing. What are they collecting? Your face certainly. Your voice probably. Who you were with? How fast you walked? Where you looked? It's so offensive, personally. They don't see us as customers anymore. We're livestock. They're farming us. I don't want to give them my money anymore.

A judge has ruled that corporations can vote in some Delaware elections. Delaware Superior Court Judge Craig Karsnitz said the town of Fenwick Island was not diluting human votes by allowing companies ​and other legal entities that own property to cast votes in municipal elections. These "legal entities" and corporations make up about 12% of registered voters in the town. In total Delaware has far more ​corporations chartered in the state than residents. Judge Karsnitz rejected the constitutional arguments of the ACLU, including the claim that "entity" or corporate voting dilutes the political power of living people.
