On January 20, 2017, when IPOB members (Biafran Christians) celebrated the victory of @realDonaldTrump. The Nigerian army and police opened live bullets on them, killing many and arresting many others. As I speak, some Christian Biafrans who were arrested in 2017 for celebrating Donald Trump's electoral victory remain in detention to this day. Why am I bringing this up? Watch the attached video: it shows a protest by northern Muslims against America and Israel (@netanyahu) today. This is the second time Nigerian Muslims have protested; in some cases, they set ablaze Israeli and American flags chant death to America and Israel, yet nothing happens to them, they are neither arrested nor stopped by the Nigerian police or army. I am not advocating for peaceful protesters to be arrested, no, peaceful protest is a fundamental right of everybody, but I am highlighting the hypocrisy of the Nigerian government toward Christians, especially Biafrans. It is no longer hidden that Biafrans and Christians face persecution in Nigeria. Judeo-Christian peaceful protesters were arrested for celebrating Trump's victory, while Muslims were escorted and directed by Nigerian security agencies to burn American and Israeli flags. The double standards are glaring and unacceptable. True justice demands equal treatment under the law for all citizens, regardless of faith or region. Until the Nigerian state ends this selective repression and upholds the rights of every people, including Biafrans and Christians the call for Biafra sovereignty will only grow louder. #FreeBiafra
