Serious question: why isn’t every bishop in the ACNA saying this right now? What else is there to consider morally and ethically here? Does this pervasive silence inspire confidence?

So is every US citizen entitled to a full trial transcript of every trial in this country because they should know what is going on in the courts of our nation? They are “the whole country” after all and as citizens have a right to know. Should we force cable networks to air 24/7 every trial?? Don’t we have a right to know? Should there be no closed court rooms because after all we deserve to see it all? Transparency is trumpeted loudest by those who have an agenda and in the majority of cases it has nothing to do with a true desire to make ACNA better. It has largely to do with people who want their agenda or idea of “justice” to win and they will use anything and everything to make that happen. The transcripts aren’t going to be released. Period. For the true health of ACNA they shouldn’t be.

@lancelormand I always think of Father John Mulcahy when I think about chaplains. He was the best.

@lancelormand @DOMA_Misconduct A case must be built and evidence presented for certain actions to be taken, but we must leave ourselves and others vulnerable if we demand such a high level of jurisprudence before exercising discernment regarding those we follow and put in positions of authority. 2/

@lancelormand @DOMA_Misconduct I may have been too hard on you yesterday, but you can't do business with people that aren't trustworthy. They will always find a way to exploit the rules and skirt accountability. The damage has already been done by the time you build a solid case as you described. 1/

“I have come to believe that the problems now visible in the ACNA are not primarily problems you can fix by rewriting the rulebook. They are problems of character, culture, and accountability — and those are not things a court structure or a revised Title IV can cure. The cure, if there is one, is repentance and the slow rebuilding of trust.” Haven’t we heard this before?

@bonhoefferchild The people at the top may know exactly what they're doing, but I believe they are supported by people who lack self awareness and the ability to self reflect. It's all about protecting individual and group identity.

The lack of shame dooms the modern American Evangelical ecosystem. They have self-awareness, but their grift and policy lust silences its voice. Now they have only a total absence of shame. Graham has traded his soul and faith for a bowl of policy lust porridge.

Franklin Graham: There is a downward moral decline. Things that never would have been talked about publicly just 30 years ago, sinful behavior that should make us blush is now celebrated and flaunted on Main Street America.

It's time to ask serious questions about the leadership in @DioceseWGC. Clergy are typically under oaths of obedience to the bishop (the norm in Anglican polity, but often misinterpreted in @the_ACNA). Were they at any point issued guidance to vote AGAINST Fr Ben Sharpe?
WannabeAnglican@WannabeAnglican

The ACNA Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast episcopal election is deadlocked after 4 ballots. Clergy are for Russell. Laity are for Sharpe. It may have to go the College of Bishops if 3 additional ballots do not decide it.

@lancelormand @AnneKGray @DOMA_Misconduct I can't see how you are personally affected by what people say about Clark Lowenfield. As I said, I've contacted ACNA many times; using that email and various other methods. Push for good jurisprudence within ACNA if that's what interests you.

@VishnobAli @AnneKGray @DOMA_Misconduct I’m defending no one but myself, sir, and certainly not the ACNA, only jurisprudence. I agree with you that people should not defend what they do not know, but neither should they accuse on such a basis. I am agnostic in whatever matter you have, as I said, here is the email.

@lancelormand @AnneKGray @DOMA_Misconduct I do have first hand knowledge of his character and John Goodman's recent article about Lowenfield is consistent with what I experienced. I've also been in church long enough to see the harm caused by people defending what they don't know. I have contacted ACNA.

Not very much first hand. He’s done things I agree with and disagree with like all human beings but I’m not going to slander him or make false statements. If you have serious allegations or knowledge of things that require reporting by all means do so, that is ACNA policy after all. That email is: misconduct@acna.org.

@VishnobAli @AnneKGray @DOMA_Misconduct Oh believe me I know! As a military chaplain my mandatory reporting role is different for uniformed service members but you can bet if I knew about something that the law required me to report as a parish priest I would! No question.

@lancelormand @AnneKGray @DOMA_Misconduct That doesn't answer my question, but it's a good way to remain blissfully ignorant of things that happen to other people. As a mandated reporter, you should acquaint yourself with the concept of willful ignorance. Most people that do bad things don't put it in writing.

@VishnobAli @AnneKGray @DOMA_Misconduct I don’t make assertions without verifiable proof, usually multiple layers proof printed in black and white. Without such proof I have no reason to believe such a thing happened. If someone thinks they have proof like that it’s up to them to share it.

@drewcollins I have neurological issues that make it exhausting to write something as descriptive, articulate, and persuasive as what Mr. Goodman wrote. But I was right and I believe that I shared enough information with enough people that someone should have at least taken a look. 1/
