Leafs NEVER used LTIR to help themselves at the deadline like other teams. They NEVER tanked this year. Berube was trying hard to win every game, even the final week of the season. They didn't take anyone out of the lineup like the Panthers were doing. They actually deserve this win.

The Leafs are heading into a offseason with significant cap space and not many obvious ways to use it. They’d be smart to leverage that by targeting cap-strapped teams and extracting assets in exchange for absorbing undesirable contracts, potentially with a buyout in mind.

Here’s a fun question. Is there any element of Canadian public service, and I’m describing this broadly so we can include any order of government or locale, that is appropriately sized to meet public demand? I know that in some areas there are more schools than are needed.

I remember the Danny Watkins debate well in 2011. He was viewed as a can’t-miss guard despite being 26. And the argument was that he’ll be a Pro Bowl player right away so who cares about the age? He was out of the league by 2013.

Today was the culmination of a poorly constructed Team Canada team. Management left a ton of talent at home that deserved to be on the team. Instead opting for guys like Doughty, Bennett, Sanheim and Parayko had no business being out there and it was clear. 4 years for Hockey Canada to sort their shit out on both the men's and women's sides.
