@ejc3 @paulg That is true if you have infinite demand for your services and no diminishing returns per employee

@paulg If each employee was 2.7x, seems like you’d want more of them.

I talked to a startup that's not a software company but uses AI quite a lot. They currently have 6 employees. I asked how many more people they'd need to hire if they didn't use AI, and they said about 10. So AI is increasing their productivity about 2.7x.

@X_of_Michael @mert Probably, but what's the point? To have stable you need bank account or physical location to store cash. One thing is to take down a distributed ledger, another thing is sending SWAT to a known address.

10% of Bitcoin seems to be a reasonable lower bound target for ZEC that sounds a bit crazy until you realize XRP/BNB are already close to that the memeability is there, the ecosystem/community is there, and the tech and utility are there will take work but will be fun

@RizomaSchool I don't really know specifics of his views but from my experience people with substantial online following tend to get more crazy as time passes, not less.

Everyone I know disagrees with me but I think Nick Fuentes is going to mature and be something very big someday. I couldn't disagree more with some of the things he thinks now, but he is rapidly maturing and is a very talented rhetorician.

oh my god-- I had a folder filled with hundreds of items of painstakingly gathered documentation for a pending case-- and it looks like I somehow accidentally put it in the trash and emptied the trash without double-checking the contents I am in shock 😭

@manfromhell_eth @zachxbt What is the difference between closing curtains to have sex with you wife and closing curtains to kill someone if in both cases you create obstruction to outsider's view?

@zachxbt what the difference between > proper onchain opsec and > money laundering after scam if they have similar ideas, the anonymity of transactions and the impossibility of tracking them

1/ As part of my work I like to test out privacy products and figure out what works and what doesn’t so I can abuse any design flaws for my investigations. With the recent hype around Zashi & its Near Intents integration I tested it for Zcash.

@BreatheLesss "Why can't westerners make good Japanese food? Their own cuisine is great." - what Japanese think, probably.

Why's it impossible for Japan to make Western food? They're pretty good at copying and improving many other things and their own cuisine is great but they can't make a good pizza or burger to save their lives.

You cannot imagine my surprise to find that seemingly >80% of people who claim to meditate have never meditated even once in their lives
ꜱᴘᴀᴄᴇ ᴘᴜɴᴋ@_space_punk_

@danielbrottman Meditation, at least in Buddhism, is defined as the states of consciousness outside of kamaloka, aka the jhanas. If its not from the rupaloka and arupaloka regions of samsara, its not meditation, its just sparkling somatic awareness (which is good, just not meditation)

@xwanyex That's why hitmen in real life aren't Agent 47 or John Wick, they're some bum you pulled off the street and paid $1400 to cap a dude.

Even the smartest criminals are kind of dumb, because if you just game out what happened in this case or any other similar case, you arrive right where we are, which is with the shooter in custody and multiple avenues of surveillance documenting his crimes in the hands of authorities

@liminal_warmth Catering to very narrow/specific audiences (or fetishes) is another way. Or scratching very specific itch like space elves colony sim with broad romance mechanics and upgrade system?

@liminal_warmth And no I don't think for game to be good game needa to be exceptional in every aspect, but being good in at least one definitely helps. eg I think tales of Maj'eyal and Hades are both good, but Hades for sure more known and successful.

I havent had time to do a game update lately but in less than a week of evenings I have a working Battle Brothers clone about 60-70% finished Music, animations, equipment, abilities, randomized battle map, world explore mode SOTA code models are insane
Dean W. Ball@deanwball

If this mirrors anything like the experience of other frontier lab employees (and anecdotally it does), it would suggest that Dario’s much-mocked prediction about “AI writing 90% of the code” was indeed correct, at least for those among whom AI diffusion is happening quickest.

@iamjimmyo @webdevMason Delayed gratification is completing some complex project. It's reaching the destination of you hike and getting an amazing view. It's training hard and getting new karate belt. Sitting still until something painful ends for hours every day is learning helplessness.

@webdevMason It’s just delayed gratification. Because there isn’t a solution. That’s the lesson. You have to wait for pleasure. You are not learning secret ways to have fun.

I agree that withholding education from gifted children so they can be used as teaching tools for other children is unethical But also: this is a cope. It's not how anything works, at least not in US schools
Jack@tracewoodgrains

If a child is in a class, they should be there because it is the best environment to help them learn, not so they can act as an unpaid tutor to provide vague "peer effects" to others A system that abuses children as resources instead of teaching them to their level is unethical
