Higher potency isn't an excuse to use government to prevent people from consuming it. If it were legalized, teens would have a harder time getting it. Street dealers don't check for ID.

Marijuana today is much more potent than just ten or twenty years ago, leading to increased psychosis, anti-social behavior, and fatal car crashes. Arkansans don’t want more dangerous drugs obtained more easily. A change to marijuana’s drug classification is a step in the wrong direction.

That's because 16 is a child. The human brain is not developed until you're 25. You don't even finish growing until 18. Your wisdom teeth don't erupt until you're post 19-20. Virtually all post 18. Therefor you're not an adult until you're 18 at a generous minimum. Realistically 20.

As a man in his 30s, I cannot comprehend how someone my age or even several years younger can feel any attraction to a 16 year old girl, let alone go through with having sexual intercourse with her. It may be legal in the UK, but a 16 year old 99% of the time still looks like a child. To me, it’s instantly noticeable, no matter how much makeup they wear or how they dress. I think some people have this idea that teenagers look like they do in teen dramas like the show Euphoria, not realising that 90% of the cast playing teenagers are in their mid to late 20s and sometimes even early 30s. At the end of the day, just because something is legal doesn’t make it morally right. There’s a reason we have the concept of adulthood. It’s supposed to come with the maturity to recognise when someone is still fundamentally a child, regardless of what the law says.
