@LoriShemek @BBMagaMom Strain known as the Andes orthohantavirus can be transmitted from H to H. It is found primarily in Argentina and Chile, where the HV Hondius sailed. Lab testing has conf the Andes strain which explains the h-h trans among pass/crew who had no direct rodent contact under sail.

@BBMagaMom The only way to get the hanta virus is inhaling the droppings, etc. of rats generally. Not from human to human contact.

🚨 A KLM flight attendant is now hospitalized in the Netherlands with hantavirus symptoms. She had direct contact with a woman who died from the virus, a passenger from the MV Hondius cruise ship where 3 people have already died. I’m sorry, but hell NO!!! We are NOT doing this shit again. Do not let that floating death trap dock anywhere until every single person on board is fully cleared. No exceptions. No “let’s be compassionate” nonsense. Keep this nightmare offshore. Three people are DEAD!! A flight crew member is now sick. Enough is enough. Cruise lines and governments better grow a spine fast. Prayers for the attendant and everyone still trapped on that ship.

@BiggestComeback There are zero top marathoners who are keto or low carb. Most eat a tremendous amount of carbs daily and remain thin and lean.

Want to see your fat burning go over 1g/min or even higher? Reduce carb intake substantially. Muscle glycogen content at the start of exercise sets the rate of fat oxidation during subsequent exercise. Muscle glycogen determines its own rate of oxidation by directing the rate of fat oxidation. The key effect of this regulation is to replace muscle glycogen use with fat oxidation when muscle glycogen content is low and the reverse when muscle glycogen content is high. The more carb eaten before or during exercise, the less fat and the more glycogen that will be burned during exercise. It's the exact opposite of what we've taught over the years. And the reason for our error was we failed to realise that glucose use during exercise is split into 2 compartments that are separately regulated: The small glucose pool in the liver, intestine and blood stream and which supports the blood glucose concentration; and the large glucose pool in the skeletal muscles. Metabolism in the large glucose pool is always directed to burn muscle glycogen as the priority fuel if it is present. Muscle burns even more glycogen if carbs are ingested, since they reduce muscle fat oxidation causing the muscles to substitute glycogen for fat oxidation. We also have subconsciously accepted the notion that the main goal of human metabolic design is to produce fast running humans running exclusively on carbs during high intensity exercise. That is, the human is a machine designed principally to run fast by using carbs to produce the required energy. But the key priority in human metabolic design it to protect the blood glucose concentration, not to fuel up for faster running. When these 2 priorities conflict, regulation of blood glucose control always wins. And blood glucose regulation is directed by the small glucose pool; not the large pool. This has the unforseen consequences described above.

Today I was supposed to fly out with Trump to lowa on Trump Force 1, but the rally was cancelled due to Tornado warnings in the area So instead he invited us all back to Mar a Lago where we had chicken wings, pigs in a blanket, a burger, and more diet cokes than I can count We talked about everything and he confirmed he will be BACK to lowa soon, likely in the next week or 2 He's sharp, hilarious, and said he believes we can do more to change America than ever before once he's back LFG

@MeePee84 @KenDBerryMD Yes, that is an example of a change in heritable traits in populations of organisms over generations. It is to a larger extent than birds evolving longer beaks, but it is the exact same process, just over a longer time period.

This is counter to the proposed “carb insulin model” which has traditionally blamed carbohydrate and our own insulin as the cause of obesity which has an essentially evangelical backing for unclear reasons despite the overwhelming body of evidence.

Cottage cheese is under-appreciated. Fraction of the carbs compared to yogurt, and more than double the protein. I prefer Russian style cottage cheese, very different from American style (but American still ok).

If he were the worst provider he would be a poor provider or provide very little.

I do love all the osteopathic hate that follows whenever people learn about an antivax DO 🙄 Yeah they're out there & they are terrible. I wish medical boards did more to discipline them. But I wish those same medical boards also disciplined antivax MDs.
The New York Times@nytimes

An osteopathic physician in Florida has become the chief spreader of coronavirus misinformation online. He's reaching a far larger audience than other vaccine skeptics, an analysis by The New York Times found. nyti.ms/3iKPtHf

@jerryteixeira @themanslife Not at all what I said. Plenty of love (empty of practical sense) can be given but not provide the perspectives and understanding needed. Self worth and self defined goals encouraged and effective means to developing such things can be taught. Ext affirm..s teaches dependency.

I get the PhD is relevant, but if you'd read The Diet Delusion, you might think it worth a PhD. Many did. Including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which gave me an Investigator Award in Health Policy Research based on it.
