It was a dream come through today when we did an impressive groundbreaking of the Oyo State SAPZ. Third in a row after Kaduna and Cross River States. Gov. Makinde, President Adesina, HMAFS A. Kyari were among the dignitaries.

I promised, and we are delivering. since I became your Governor, Osun has moved from 33rd to 7th in WAEC/NECO rankings nationally — a feat not achieved in 18 years! This is proof that our education reforms are working. In 2022, I made a vow to return Osun to academic excellence. Three years later, we have achieved a 71% success rate in national exams, with over 29,000 students securing at least five credits, including Math and English. Our female candidates ranked 6th nationwide, while the males came 10th. We are also making global waves: •Osun students won the Malaysia International Debate in 2024. •We are representing Africa at the AI Robotics Competition in Dallas this May. •We placed 2nd in the National Sewing Competition and ranked best in the NELFUND Education Loan Assessment. This progress reflects our tireless investment in education—from Osun State University and UNILESA to our polytechnics and colleges of education and technology. The work isn’t done yet, my goal is for Osun to be No. 1 in Nigeria, and with your continued support, we will get there. Let’s keep pushing. Osun is rising!

Today, at the commissioning of Nike Arts Gallery complex building at Akoda, Osun state, we honored the proprietor, Chief (Mrs) Monica Adenike Okundaye, as the Queen of Adire. This is in recognition of her local and global contributions to the adoption and popularity of adire textile. Mama Adenike’s contributions to the development of Arts and Culture remain iconic, making this latest achievement a symbol of hard work, innovation and accomplishment for our mother in culture and tradition. Our government has adopted Adire as a symbol of our heritage and we have remained committed to its revival, to champion the identity of our dear state. To further promote this tradition, I have directed the Ministry of Arts and Culture, as well as all cultural agencies under the Osun State government, to collaborate with Nike Arts Gallery to enhance the implementation of the state's creative industry agenda.

𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐬𝐮𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞’𝐬 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 Today, at a tripartite meeting facilitated by the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dele Alake, in Abuja, I am pleased to announce the resolution of our longstanding dispute with Segilola Mining Company. During the meeting—attended by the Minister and the management of Thor Explorations Company—we reached an amicable resolution on several key issues, including: ✅ Osun State’s shareholding in Segilola Mining Company ✅ Tax payments by the firm ✅ Environmental degradation concerns ✅ Disputed mining fields I commended the Minister’s prompt intervention and, indeed, President Tinubu’s administration for its ongoing reforms in the nation’s mining sector—a model that we are replicating to drive our own reforms in Osun State. I also expressed my appreciation to the Minister for facilitating this resolution, which has yielded positive results for our dear state. Furthermore, I reaffirmed Osun’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment that sustains existing investors and attracts new ones across all sectors. The meeting concluded with a formal resolution on the transfer of Osun State’s shareholding, along with agreements on the exchange of data related to tax claims, environmental impact, and mining field disputes. The highlight of the event was the official presentation of the Osun shareholding certificate by the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dele Alake—a significant milestone for our administration and the people of Osun State.

RE: Nigerians in Diaspora petition Interior minister over printer crisis The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has acknowledged the receipt of a petition bothering on appeal for passport printers in Atlanta and New York Consulates in the United States of America. To address this issue, the Minister has since approved and directed the Nigeria Immigration Service to immediately deploy new printers to the passport offices in both cities. These printers are ready for installation. This short-term solution aims to resolve the current challenge promptly. The Minister hinted that there is a new solution being implemented as a long-term plan that will usher in a streamlined passport regime, enabling Nigerians to apply for their passports with more ease. Part of this plan includes the activation of the Passport Personalisation Centre in Abuja, which is scheduled to start in the next few weeks while also opening up more countries for the already-deployed contactless solution. The Ministry of Interior under the Minister is working round the clock, and none of the agencies is left behind. At the Nigeria Immigration Service, for instance, there has been an end-to-end automation of the passport application process and the introduction of the contactless application process, which has since been launched in Canada. The Minister assures that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to ensuring that Nigerians experience #RenewedHope laced with innovation and convenience while still enhancing national security.
