It’s been a little over two months since I left my last job. A week after my last working day, I reflected on moving on after 3.5 years. Here’s what I came up with.

actually Bangalore lost its cool no matter what the weather folks say... The daytime max barely moved since the 1980s. But it's hotter than 30C for MUCH longer Heat stress lasts longer: used to get cooler by 4:27 PM → now HOT till 5:54 PM The night used to cool down below 22°C and we used to recover — now hours per night under 22°C — shrank from 3½ hours to 48 minutes! No wonder I'm cranky and exhausted in the mornings! 40 years of ERA5 hourly data → prasannais.com/is-bangalore-h…

The potholes on our only entry and exit road have been in a severely deteriorated condition for over a year now. This stretch is already under immense pressure due to haphazard parking on one side and the complete absence of a walkable footpath, forcing pedestrians to walk on the road. The current state of the road, combined with deep potholes, has made it extremely unsafe and inconvenient for both pedestrians and vehicles. The last asphalting of this road was carried out in December 2020. Since then, the road has deteriorated significantly, with potholes emerging due to what appears to be substandard work. We request your urgent intervention to address and fix this issue at the earliest. The situation has become so critical that residents are now considering pooling funds to temporarily fill these potholes themselves. @osd_cmkarnataka We need your urgent help ma'am 🙏🏽 Sahaaya Complaint No: 21061438, 21017886

late tweet, but me and the gf finished rewatching Andor S1 last week, and I’m struggling to decide if there’s anything from S2 that matches the emotional impact of Rix Road

This part in this piece on @JoshuaKushner really rings true to me. I'm a gut-driven, intuition-first person, so I know exactly what he's saying here: --- “My deepest insecurity is that I have these intuitions about things that I cannot explain to anyone,” Kushner told Rubin as they sat in his garden overlooking the ocean. “Sometimes I see or experience something and it makes sense to me, I fall in love, but I cannot explain why. Like when Thrive invested in Instagram or Spotify or OpenAI. I could not explain to anyone why the products made sense to me. It is my job to learn as much as I can for my team and teach them as much as I can, but often I have to push forward on my intuition alone. Which is why my even deeper insecurity is … what if I lose it? Like, what if I lose the capacity to feel or experience these things?” --- And @RickRubin's advice also rings true. Exactly how we go about our business: --- “My advice to you and your team is to just be yourselves,” Rubin explained. “Because if you do what you think the rest of the world wants, one of two things will happen. You might be right, but if you are, you won’t really know why; and if you’re wrong, you’ll be angry at yourself for deviating from what is true to your core. So just be yourself, and either you’ll be right, and it’ll feel really good; or you’ll be wrong. But at least you’ll still be yourself.” --- Great read overall: joincolossus.com/article/joshua…

It took ~$34B for Mumbai, funded by the state govt, central govt, Japanese investors, ADB (Asian Development Bank) & the Mumbai city. It took 10+ years across several govts. It’s a herculean task that can go through only via “planning” & “accountability”. x.com/agesback/statu…
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw@kiranshaw

I also am puzzled about why the political leadership is not showing the political urgency to fix our city and make it world class. It doesn’t take more than a focus in terms of budgetary allocation n execution. A billion dollars needs to be ring-fenced to do this @siddaramaiah @DKShivakumar @PriyankKharge

Finally some light at the end of the tunnel for Mumbai after several yrs of work across different govt. I hope Bengaluru gets its act together too w/ “planning” & “accountability”. Tho I don’t see it happening for the next 10 yrs (it took Mumbai that long) youtu.be/_5y5fh9zTg4?si…

Minister @DKShivakumar @PriyankKharge some feed back. This is not the result of growth but huge corruption and bad governance. Please help @GBA_office @GBAChiefComm cannot we have roads without potholes? This is not AI work but done for more than 200 years!

I’d be stoked to see my usage patterns & breakdowns compared to others - by geography, industry, and use cases like writing, coding, or strategy plus total yearly tokens used - all ranked percentile wise. #AmITheAskHole 😀

@irishdrug1511 Your scenario will break only if one card can have multiple face ids against them like your face and my face for my card details in one of your apps. Referring Apple Pay was incorrect. I meant payment settings in Apple to bind the face id & card details. But phone no. is easier.

@irishdrug1511 I’m saying that one card will have only 1 face id. Agree? And to know that specific face id to unlock payments, it will be via the primary phone number of the account/card vs the device with the phone number. Does that make sense now?

This is a really cool implementation but how do u bind the biometric proof to the actual card/account holder? What if I have added my friend’s card to my profile and make a purchase with it?
Harshil Mathur@harshilmathur

For over a decade, India’s online card payments have relied solely on OTPs, they built trust, but they also added friction and drop-offs. Just 10 days ago, the RBI opened the door to alternate authentication methods like biometrics. And today, that future is already live. @Razorpay ACS, in partnership with @YESBANK, is powering India’s first RBI-compliant biometric card authentication. ✅ No OTPs ✅ No delays ✅ Instant, secure, compliant, and built for scale From regulation to rollout in record time, this puts India on par with the most advanced payment ecosystems globally, and in many ways, ahead.

@irishdrug1511 I’m sure (I hope) that Face ID works only for payment methods/card details provided in your Apple ID. Unless you have your friends details in Apple Pay too? 🤔

@ku1deep @harnidhish Requiring a doc to convince you as a leader/manager in an org makes you more unapproachable & kills collaboration. Perfect docs suit investors/prospects, not internal teams - in the latter, there’s a power imbalance that doesn’t need to exist in a company so much. 2/2

This might be a personal pet peeve, so take it with a pinch of salt. When people write ‘please let’s get on call’ ‘easier to explain on call’ ‘hard to explain here, call would be better’ All I’m hearing is ‘I can’t articulate myself and I’m going to ramble on call and waste your time’. Writing is a SUPERPOWER. It’s proof that you can take your thoughts and structure them well. And this isn’t a ‘can you write in English’ thing. I’ve fully had people send me notes in Hinglish, Hindi, Punjabi, Kannada and more- if I don’t know the language, I just translate it. What matters is your ability to convince me without tone and inflection doing the heavy lifting. You’re also going to sell via writing- you’re going to write thousands of emails to prospective clients. If you can’t convince me, how will you convince them!!!! Just say ‘If this resonates, let’s get on a call’. Don’t cut yourself at your knees by saying ‘I’m better on call’ it’s just a terrible anti-signal.
