Terrifyingly it's well over a decade since the wonderful @swkplay Parade revival. But here's a little throwback to it that I recorded recently. Still one of my favourite jobs of my whole career... instagram.com/reel/C_fpPuJgs…

This is maybe the worst corporate messaging I've ever seen in my life.

@v_j_freeman Like, apparently we can't even cope with losing the winter fuel allowance - a policy that, if it didn't exist, absolutely no one would be saying was necessary - without people throwing their toys out of the pram!

@v_j_freeman I'm still mystified as to what people actually expected to improve so quickly after the catastrophes brexit and decades of underfunding of services. Seems to me the voters aren't really capable of a grown up conversation about trade offs.

So many are misinterpreting Labour’s woes as policy related but they are *all* the result of Starmer’s leadership failings. Another leader could absolutely have made a success of policy programme Starmer sold the British people. His problem is he didn’t even try.
(((Dan Hodges)))@DPJHodges

To Labour MPs panicking about the Greens. Polanski has broken through because you allowed him to. You broadly supported the Starmer strategy. You sat back when Burnham was blocked. You cheered Starmer when the cabinet rallied round him. Fine. But don't start crying about it now.

Everyone loves Hillary right up until she tries to run for office, then mysteriously they don’t like her and I’m sure it has nothing to do with the deep roots of misogyny that absolutely infect our entire society.
Kaivan Shroff@KaivanShroff

Hillary Clinton is such an incredible force. These clips of her testimony are just the latest reminder. She was punished by society for being too smart and too competent. And we’ve had a decade of devastating consequences because of that.

This is how Tourette's can impact the people who live with it. I'm sure demanding that they issue relentless apologies for their tics would be a massive help, right?

It’s fascinating how prominent MPs would take seats almost anywhere back then. Benn moved up from Bristol and Crossland went from Gloucester to Grimsby. Being a local champion is very new and I don’t think you can argue it’s improved the quality of lawmakers

#OTD 1984. Tony Benn back in the Commons after Chesterfield by-election - temporarily uniting with Kinnock, Healey and Hattersley on the campaign trail. He calls for the “passionate advocacy of socialism” to defeat Thatcher.

BAFTA have released one of the strongest and most thoughtful apologies imaginable. But it won't be enough. Because the outraged mob is completely immune to reason. Just one of the many reasons you should never apologise to them.

“Only an industry located so firmly up its own backside could gather to honour a film illustrating the grim realities facing someone living with Tourette’s and then be so publicly aggrieved when the actuality of that illness – and the involuntary nature of its effects on those suffering from it – reveals itself in their midst.”

Can't help feel a lot of the commentary on this is driven by excitement at sharing a take, rather than concern at a human level about the people involved. For me it has shades of how Tim Hunt was treated online back in 2015. As always, empathy is under-rated. theguardian.com/science/2015/j…

The BAFTA fallout makes me sad: it shows how bad we are at adapting to disability in society. OK, you can say your ire is reserved for BBC/BAFTAs not John Davidson, but maybe everyone could temper our reaction a little out of concern for how the frenzy might make him feel?
