It is truly a honour to be elected as the next Regional Director of @WHOAFRO, and I am grateful to the Ministers of Health from Member States for their trust in my capabilities. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the President of Tanzania, H.E. @SuluhuSamia, for her unwavering support throughout the election process and for her congratulatory message. I also wish to acknowledge my brothers @SoceFallBirima from Senegal, @DrBoureima from Niger, and @RichardMihigo from Rwanda for their vigorous campaigns; I have read your presentations and manifestos, and I recognize the unique contributions each of you can make to enhance the health of our continent, and I will be reaching out to you. To WHO DG @DrTedros, thank you for the exemplary work that you are doing at @WHO. I am eagerly looking forward to be working closely with you to further the health agenda across the African continent.
