Insurance denied my friend’s MRI last month. Doctor ordered it. Said it was medically necessary. Insurance said they needed more documentation. Doctor sent more documentation. Insurance said they needed a peer to peer review. Peer to peer happened. Insurance denied it again. My friend paid $2,400 out of pocket. The person who denied it was not a doctor. Was not reviewed by a doctor. Was an algorithm trained to find reasons to say no. This is legal. This is standard practice. This happens 50,000 times a day in America.

Can you see why many men feel like they are being given contradictory instructions? I am not talking about expecting sex immediately after a hug, a massage, or a date night. Like it is a button you push to get sex. That is a different conversation. If these things are recommended because they help couples create a healthier sexual relationship, why are we uncomfortable saying to do them to have more/better sex?
