🚨For 74 days, Democrats have kept DHS shut down. @HouseGOP has voted multiple times to fund DHS and pay our brave law enforcement officers. 🇺🇸 It’s time to reopen DHS!

@GuntherEagleman I think she was right to bring this up. Yes DHS workers got back pay but nothing going forward at all we are still in non paid status even though we are working still. They need to sign it and open it up already we shouldn’t have to worry about our next pay check coming.

🚨 Rep. Rosa DeLauro just melted down on the House floor over the GOP not immediately rubber-stamping a Senate deal on partial DHS funding. She whined that it's been over 20 days since the Senate passed a bill to keep TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard, and cybersecurity workers paid. And the House still hasn't voted. DeLauro then launched into a sob story about federal workers missing rent, facing eviction, sleeping in cars, and donating plasma. She conveniently ignored that the White House only just started issuing paychecks after claiming they had the authority the whole time. What she left out? The months of open-border chaos under Biden-Harris that flooded American cities with illegal migrants, overwhelmed every agency, and turned basic government funding into a complete hostage situation. Both sides already agree on paying these workers through the end of the year. Yet Democrats continue playing games, holding essential workers hostage while blocking real ICE reforms and desperately needed border security fixes. DeLauro even threatened to force a vote if Republicans defeat the previous question. The game is obvious: use federal workers as pawns to protect the open border. Americans see right through it.

I didn’t come to Washington to protect Senate rules. I came to protect the American people and deliver President Trump’s agenda. We expect the Senate to do its job—pass a bill that secures our border and deports illegal immigrants.

🚨Senate GOP gives the middle finger to Americans AGAIN🚨 @LeaderJohnThune & the @SenateGOP have delivered yet another calculated middle finger to @HouseGOP @SpeakerJohnson & to the American people. Instead of using the REVERSIBLE Nuclear Rule to pass this bill AND the Save America Act, Senate passed a partial DHS Funding bill & “intend” to pass the ICE/ERO funding via Budget Reconciliation - IF it passes - that is! 👀👉🏻By passing AGAIN the stripped down DHS Appropriations bill that leaves ICE & ERO twisting in the wind, they didn’t just cave to Democrat obstruction - they actively adopted it.👈🏻👀 Thune is now shamelessly hiding behind a “Myth vs. Fact” sheet from OMB to claim that ICE and ERO are “fully funded” through the 2025 OBBBA (H.R. 1). 💥This is not spin. It is a direct contradiction of the actual law. 👉🏻The reality from the codified OBBBA H.R. 1: ▫️Section 201 (page 45 of the enrolled bill):
“In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated to the Secretary of Homeland Security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for fiscal year 2025, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $29,850,000,000, to remain available through September 30, 2029, for… hiring and training additional U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel… transportation and removal operations.” ▫️Section 202 (page 52): Additional mandatory funding for detention beds and transportation for removals. This is supplemental mandatory spending - extra money ON TOP OF & NOT REPLACEMENT OF the regular annual discretionary appropriations. 🚨FACT: It was NEVER designed to replace the day-to-day baseline funding for ICE and ERO salaries, facilities, equipment & routine operations. The OMB fact sheet IS an official administration document. It is valid & correctly describes the Administration’s plan to use H.R. 1 funds to keep certain ICE and Border Patrol operations running. 🚨However, it does NOT say ICE & ERO are fully funded without new appropriations. It relies on the supplemental mandatory authority already in H.R. 1 & states the Administration will seek another reconciliation bill to fully fund personnel and activities. 🚨Thune’s claim that OBBBA fully funds ICE & ERO is simply false. The bill provides extra money on top of the regular appropriations process - it does not eliminate the need for the annual bill. If OBBBA truly fully funded ICE and ERO, there would be no need to include them in the annual DHS appropriations bill in the first place. 🚨 IMPORTANT to know: The DEATH of the SAVE America Act While Thune & Senate GOP leadership are busy pushing this weak partial bill and citing OMB talking points, they have completely ignored the SAVE America Act. Thune is choosing political theater over protecting Americans. He is letting Senate Democrats’ obstruction win while the House GOP fights to secure the border and our elections. 🚨IMPORTANT to understand: They have REFUSED to force the real talking filibuster or the reversible Nuclear Rule - the only two tools that would have passed both bills without a single Democrat vote. In a nutshell:
👉🏻Thune & Senate GOP is prioritizing Senate decorum over American lives. 👉🏻Thune & Senate GOP are citing an OMB memo that treats law enforcement funding like a shell game while the actual provisions of H.R. 1 prove he is looting the enforcement budget to cover for Democrat obstruction. ▫️H.R. 1 (2025 OBBBA full enrolled text, Sections 201 and 202): https://www.congress. gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/1/text ▫️H.R. 7744 (House-passed DHS Appropriations, March 5, 2026): https://www.congress. gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/7744/text

News: Speaker Johnson told House Republicans he won't hold a vote on a DHS funding bill until the Senate makes significant progress on funding for ICE and CBP Johnson told his conference he thinks the Senate could pass a narrow reconciliation package within two weeks Members also want to strip language from the Senate bill that zeroes out ICE and CBP funding, avoiding a vote seen as defunding law enforcement axios.com/2026/04/02/dhs…

To clear up any media misconceptions: Only @HouseGOP has voted to fund the government — several times in fact. The Senate has not. And its recent unanimous vote did not fully fund the protection of our borders.

@DJScooter777 @BillMelugin_ We know they are part of homeland. Just cause they are does not mean they have access to the same material as most federal law enforcement in. DHS, watchlist and regular general background info is standard like wants and warrants checks.

This is already public knowledge. TSA shared w/ ICE that the targets had active deportation orders since 2019, making them ICE fugitives. What is alarming about ICE arresting Guatemalan illegal aliens who had their due process & have been ordered removed by an immigration judge?
Adam Schiff@SenAdamSchiff

I'm launching an inquiry with @SenAlexPadilla on the alarming actions by ICE at San Francisco International Airport. We must know what immigration data TSA is sharing with ICE and why. The last thing we need are more scenes like the one we witnessed last week. ICE agents shouldn't be at our airports.

Democrats left TSA workers without pay. @POTUS stepped in and got them paid. Now airport lines are moving again—and Americans are seeing the difference. The left must stop playing games, fund DHS & end the chaos.

If you count on the lazy and biased media to tell you what’s going on in Washington regarding @DHSgov funding, you are making a mistake. Here’s the reality. The Department of Homeland Security is not being funded and its employees are not being paid because Democrats refuse to vote for funding unless Republicans agree to hamstring @ICEgov and @CBP. The Democrats’ demands are not reforms – they’re handcuffs.  I’m willing to work on DHS reforms, but our country’s national security cannot be held hostage. I have no intention of giving in to hostage-taking and unreasonable demands that impede federal agents’ ability to do their jobs and, in some cases, put their lives at risk.
