@enbsalmon40 @JSS779 Went in not long ago, it's small but pleasant enough. Good staff, alright drinks - with QR ordering and some snacky bits, nothing exciting. Easily full to the brim when the BA flight is due but it's one of the last of the day so they just about cope.

@jamesmyers1978 @British_Airways It's a trap. The tag is decorative. If a bag is priority then it's in the barcode and will be handled as such. Sadly, that isn't a service BA actually offer at all on s/haul and on l/haul only by cabin if the stars align and things are loaded/offloaded in exactly the right order.

@fl360aero I believe the first to operate the -10 will be BA with the first of their GE engined deliveries, G-ZBXA due for delivery in Q2 this year.

Air New Zealand will be among the first operators to use the iMTOW capability as FAA clears higher takeoff weight for 787-9 and 787-10. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has certified an increased maximum takeoff weight (iMTOW) for the 787-9 and 787-10. The change gives Boeing airline customers the option to carry more payload or fly longer routes. - B787-9: Roughly 10,000-pound (4,540-kilogram) increase enables about three metric tons of extra payload, or more than 300 nautical miles (560 kilometers) of additional range. - B787-10: Roughly 14,000-pound (6,350-kilogram) increase enables about five metric tons of extra payload, or more than 400 nautical miles (740 kilometers) of additional range. Air New Zealand, the 787-9 launch customer, will be among the first operators to use the iMTOW capability. #aircraft

Looking back through old photos of my BeOnd flights and so many great memories come back of two outstanding flights. Back in 2024 they were relatively new when it came to operating flights when they had just one ex-easyJet A319. Every part of the experience was extremely premium and had a private jet like feel with just 11 rows of luxury lie flat beds. IFE was delivered in the form of a very well equipped iPad with had live maps with flight into too. The onboard service was attentive, friendly and personable too with many of the crew previously being from QR/EK. I’m not sure how they are able to prepare and serve such amazing food too from the narrow body galley either, but it was impressive to say the least. Definitely will be a strong choice for LHR once they start the route from my local airport DWC.

@THFCeagles @Avgeek_Jan @British_Airways Yup. On the North Atlantic BA sells J seats like hot potatoes. 76 on the 777-300ER, 97 currently on the A380 (split between levels), 110 Club Suites aren't going to be a challenge to fill. There's a LOT of service to do though from those upper deck valleys!

🔴 @British_Airways is finally retrofitting all 12 of its A380s with new cabins, starting Q2 2026. The entire upper deck will be dedicated to business class, with 110 seats making it the largest business class cabin in the world. First class drops from 14 to 12 seats but gets a long overdue redesign with proper doors and updated tech. Total capacity goes from 469 to 421 seats. BA says all aircraft should be done by end of 2027, though given their 777 and 787 retrofit pace, late 2026 for the first delivery sounds more realistic. The A380 going from BA's most neglected jet to its flagship is quite the glow up #Aviation #BritishAirways #A380

Anyone else always just land on purple 8 points every single time they spin @OctopusEnergy’s wheel of fortune? It’s always the purple 8. I spin 4 times a month. Game is rigged for real.

@ukairport24 I think Barbados could come back to LGW from LHR in the long run (perhaps partially) , it's currently 77E or 78X, when the former are replaced with 779 it may well be too big. Only drawback would be no F on what is a very lucrative premium route.

British Airways 787-10s such good news not just because we now know the future for the gatwick base but having these new planes will potentially mean more one world airlines wanting to come. I think potential destinations just my opinion: Phuket Abu Dhabi Lima reinstated Bridgetown reinstated Singapore

@GeekaWhat @ukairport24 Absolutely, they did plan an increase before COVID to I think 15 777s but it didn't happen. LHR is getting quite an expansion baked in with modest fleet growth thanks to 779s replacing the GE 77Es and I think some of those Carribean routes could go back to LGW.

@benji787 @ukairport24 How else will they grow though without any further expansion at LHR? A bump of 5 sounds pretty modest to be honest, especially given the extra range/crew bunks for some new routes East :)

British Airways bringing in the new 787-10 to London Gatwick is amazing news. I have been hearing they will be basing around 17 with first aircraft being delivered around 2028. Incredible news.

@mcpoole84 @JSS779 It'll be 3 class. The majority of these 787-10s are replacing the 3 class RR 777s at LHR (aswell as LGW) so there will without a doubt be a different configuration to the current ones.

@ewand @British_Airways Checkin at ACE opens 2hr 20 before departure and one queue will have had the priority podium out - problem is people ignore it. The lounge is small and if it's full it's full. Get to checkin for when it opens and you'll have no problem getting in the lounge. Do it regularly.

Don't bother flying @British_Airways #ClubEurope. Arrived at Lanzarote for return flight to LGW, queued for 45 mins to check-in (only 2 lanes, no prioritisation in action). Denied Fast Track security with a shrug, and the only lounge was full.

Just 1 lav for 44 first-class seats is going to be rough. This plane is great for your upgrade odds: 44 first, 54 Comfort, 66 regular economy. I can't wait to take a look at this configuration IRL.

Omg, @Delta just published the seat map of its wildest plane yet. The Airbus A321neo with 44(!!) first-class seats, dubbed the '3NP.' First class basically goes to the overwing exit. I love that the pitch in first class was enlarged to 38 inches.

Paid premium for @British_Airways Club World MIA-LHR. Seat had NO windows, broken luggage bin, broken divider. Partner moved without reason. Their response to my complaint? Template email, zero compensation. This is BA ‘premium service’ in 2026. Disgraceful. #BritishAirways

@JamesMcLuckie @HeathrowAirport @British_Airways You would indeed think they'd check but very often the first time they notice its broken is when they come to use it by which point it's too late, would have taken much longer to move the aircraft to another gate - if one was even avaliable, especially for a domestic.

@benji787 @HeathrowAirport @British_Airways I understand that things break, Ben. But surely this should be part of the checks before advertising the gate. And, more frustratingly, it was a good 15 mins after we had frogmarched our way through T5 that the gate was updated on the boards. No excuse for that.

Absolute scenes at @HeathrowAirport tonight. @British_Airways BA1460 on board. Advised at gate that we’d been changed to other side of T5. Every passenger arrives panting, sweating and stressed out. We’re then all piled onto buses … and taken to the original gate! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
