Everything Price Sufferer (but especially eggs)
Sherrod Brown was an old school labor rights Democrat and he lost decisively to a car dealership owner who had to settle several wage theft lawsuits before running for office. This election was not about working class discontent.

Folks, I know what happened Tuesday is terrible. But recall that in the 2020 election, Rs lost six of the same seven battleground states, lost the popular vote by 7 million votes, lost the Senate, and had lost the House. I don't recall an outpouring of "GOP soul searching" stories at the time. And two years later, Rs won back the House, and now they've won the presidency. Similarly, after 2016, it felt horrible for Dems. Two years after that, Dems won back the House, and two years later won the presidency. Yes, some of the realignments we're seeing are deeply concerning and require some serious analysis/learning. Yes, in some ways, Trump's victory was larger than Biden's in 2020. But not *that much* larger, as noted above (on pop vote, it's now 5 million and counting versus 7 million for Biden). There's time to learn and regroup and it's perfectly plausible that things turn back around next cycle. That's just how this works. Back and forth. The task now is to pull together and limit the damage Trump can do.

Check out this @Ipsos poll from last month. People who answered factual questions about inflation, crime, and immigration incorrectly were "more likely to opt for Trump," Ipsos said, while those who answered correctly preferred Harris. ipsos.com/en-us/link-bet…

I keep seeing the argument that Democrats abandoned the white working class, but from a policy perspective most of Biden’s legislative accomplishments benefited the working class. The sad reality for Dems is that “doing things” simply doesn’t translate into electoral benefits

In the coming days there's gonna be a lot of opining about what the Harris campaign did wrong, but this election was not an indictment of Kamala Harris. It was an indictment of America.

Cory Booker was just asked: "IF Kamala Harris goes on to win this election, and you have to point to one hero of the story, who or what would that be?" Booker said: "The patriotism of Joe Biden."
