@jimmysong How hard is it to just mitigate to QC resistant adresses? Any Bitcoiner with some level of brain activity will send their coins to the new adress. Why are everyone complicating this? Satoshi aint coming back for his legacy coins. If they get back in to circulation, so be it.

BIP361 is a complete non-starter for me, but I would still like to see an attempt by its supporters to put it on the Bitcoin network as either a soft fork or a hard fork. Not because I want to get a "fork dividend," but because we need to see how these things play out.

People crying about the $WLFI 2 year vest don't understand cycles. Short unlock = everyone dumps = project dies. This one does the opposite. Insiders locked longest. No forced sells in the bear. This is the same nonsense BIP-110'ers are worried about. I'm not worried about bad people adopting bitcoin and doing bad things with it. If bitcoin gets banned, so be it. If you aren't prepared to be deemed a traitor by your country, bitcoin probably isn't for you.

Iran demanding payment in bitcoin in the Strait of Hormuz is not the win you think it is. "Terrorist financing" is the one major concern that will push CLARITY Act DeFi discussions on KYC/AML over the edge. And the biggest terrorist there is, according to the US, is the very country now demanding payment in BTC – explicitly to bypass sanctions and confiscation. If you KYC every endpoint, BTC can be confiscated just as well as any other asset on earth: through the threat of force and violence. Ensuring freedom of transaction in the US (and arguably anywhere else) just became a hell of a lot harder.
