@MandyEire @RachelMoiselle Please look up the definition of genocide and try to make it stick. You'll learn something. Then, apply this to countries like China and others to see the difference.

@RachelMoiselle The components are made in China. As they are for many companies. They're designed and assembled in Ireland. "Proud Irish people" support Irish companies, not genocide, Rachel

Before I log off for a week, I must comment to say that it is immensely disheartening to see this from an Irish company. It is all the more egregious considering their bikes are made in China. There are many of us proud Irish people who will continue to do what we can to combat the societal attitudes that emboldened this company to discriminate with such confidence. We love our country and know that, for it to flourish, we must stamp out this bigotry.

A few years ago, my husband — a cycling enthusiast — invested almost $300 in a “built to last” balance bike from @LittleBigBikes for our kids, specifically because parts could be replaced over time. Today, as our youngest needs new pedals and brakes, the company refuses to ship to Israel. Not to a government — to customers. Companies are, of course, free to take political positions. But refusing to serve individuals based solely on where they live is not a “peace stance.” It’s collective exclusion and discrimination. People who oppose boycotts should know where this company stand.

@Fvckutvitter @RachelMoiselle Oh peeelease, not that 🐮💩 silly argument again. It's not comparable with Irish history or the regime ink SA. It's not difficult to understand but.....you'd have to do some reading.

@RachelMoiselle If you were truly Irish you would know that the Irish have stood up to oppressive regimes (British), stood against apartheid. Why should they now ignore a state which is all of the following oppressive, genocide committing and actively implementing apartheid?

@MyriamShermer @steveeypips @jonathanross @LittleBigBikes Irish here and living there and I can tell you that is nuts over here. It's like living in 1930's Germany where you can only support the fascist Jew hate mongers. If you do you will be beaten or lose friends. I hate the atmosphere in Ireland now.

Morning Ireland on RTE interviewed this morning a senior officer in our defence forces on the observation & monitoring role of our UNIFIL contingent & their safety. Multiple questions asked about Israeli forces. And all appropriate. But not a single question about Hezbollah missiles & the activities of Hezbollah. It is as if Hezbollah does not exist.

From 1974 to 1981, I studied at the Jewish King David Primary School. Almost all my school friends were Jewish. We wore the Star of David on our uniforms with schoolboy pride. We waved Israeli flags on Jewish festival days. My friends spoke about visits to Israel or moving there. I thought it a good thing. Then I grew up. I was in my early 20s when this aired. I knew the sketch was satirical. But I married a Palestinian by then. And I discovered the truth was far, far worse.

How can you possibly support Israel? Westerners who adopt the Palestinian cause from a place of distance and comfort struggle to understand people like me; people who come from the Arab world and have walked away from it. Some of us didn’t just walk away. We chose a side. I am the daughter of a Lebanese mother and a Syrian father. My mother is a child of the Lebanese Civil War—a war in which militias, backed and fueled in the name of the Palestinian cause, tore Lebanon apart. Lebanese killed Lebanese. A country was destroyed, not to save Lebanon, but to serve a broader ideological project. My father is Syrian. I grew up watching what regimes and militias did in Syria and Lebanon while constantly hearing that all of it was Israel’s fault. That was the story. But it didn’t match reality. We lived humiliation, corruption, fear. We stood for hours at checkpoints, bribed officials for basic rights, feared prisons where people disappeared. We watched regimes claim to fight for Palestine while crushing their own people without mercy. And still, we were told to sacrifice more. For Palestine. At our expense. So yes, let me be clear: Do I stand with Israel against those who destroyed our countries in the name of that cause? Any day. Anytime. Because I have seen what they did to us. And when I went to Israel, I saw something I was never supposed to see: a functioning country—a society with rights, accountability, and dignity—something my own region denied us. That doesn’t mean Israel is perfect. It means the story I was told was incomplete—and dangerously so. So when you ask, “How can you possibly support Israel?” Understand this: Some of us are not speaking from ideology. We are speaking from experience. And no, we were not paid or manipulated. We changed our minds when we finally saw the full picture. #Israël #lebanon #israel #FreeIranNow

@danobrien20 Surely it would be similar to the reunification of Germany? If the majority on both sides elect for an all Ireland then so be it. I don't believe that we need to bend over backwards if the minority disagree. We live in a democracy afterall.

I spent 48hrs desperately hoping the story of the 2-year-old baby being tortured by the IDF in Gaza was fake news or whatever, because I just couldn't face the truth. I summoned the stomach to check the sources & video & honestly, it's cast iron. Utterly beyond depravity.

@KarenLizzaBeth @gotrice2024 Yes, I agree with you. It's a pity that we've lost that sense of caring and community. They also recorded it and put it on the internet to show...what? That's life now I'm afraid. On the other hand and of I was the lady outside, I'd see could I get designated parking.

The voices sound elderly. I think the right thing to do is allow the ladies to park close to their home. It’s the same principle as being on a bus. Able bodied give up seats for pregnant women, disabled, and elderly. It would have been kind of these girls to help out. This might be something they understand better in their golden years, but parents should teach children to do this.

This woman and her daughter come and knock on the door of this college house where the students get a parking spot in the driveway and the other two roommates park in the street. The woman is an asthmatic and claims that she always parks in a certain spot and that everyone else is aware and respects it. She tells them to move the car and not to park there anymore. The student refutes it and says it’s public street parking and she has no right to claim it. Why is this woman arguing with them when she can call the city and ask to designate a handicap spot for her, is she being out of line?

If the Muslim community had ambulances in London it would be framed by the media and some of the political class as "taking over" or "an act of dominance." But when it's the Jewish community, it's "charity".

Joanna Byrne, an anti-Israel Sinn Féin MP, was removed from her role as chair of a top-tier Irish football club after calling for a sporting boycott of Israel and urging Ireland not to play against its national team. The club’s new American owners said her use of the position to promote a controversial political agenda conflicted with the club’s values and brand. FAFO.
