The delusion that the US or Saudis can simply build shiny new infrastructure around the Strait of Hormuz like ports, bases, pipelines and then magically defend it without peace is pure imperial fantasy. Iran doesn’t need to invade or occupy. From its mountain ramparts, it can rain precision missiles drones and mines on anything within 300 kilometres. I bet it can hit even further! Every new asset becomes a high-value, indefensible target sitting ducks in a narrow chokepoint Iran has prepped for decades. Preservation is impossible without permanent, unsustainable naval/air presence the US can no longer afford. One serious exchange and insurance rates skyrocket, traffic diverts, and the whole project bleeds billions while accelerating the empire’s exhaustion. You don’t “own” the Strait by building on its edges. Iran owns the ability to close it. Build a peace and respect multipolar world.
