There is NO one way to generate returns. It depends on the manager. If a manager has an excellent network/sourcing and the ability to access small non-lead checks, model is small funds, more positions. If someone has shown picking ability in a domain, fewer companies, higher ownership and follow-ons. This whole notion that there is "one" way to optimize VC performance is silly. Every few months, VC Twitter and LinkedIn light up with debates about “concentrated vs. diversified” portfolios or “high reserves for follow-ons vs. no reserves.” But the truth is, there’s no single way to drive returns in venture. It all depends on the manager and their unique strengths. If you have exceptional sourcing and access, a diversified approach with more positions—even smaller checks—can work. If you’re a proven picker in a domain, fewer companies with higher ownership and big follow-ons make sense. The idea that there’s one way to optimize VC performance is just industry groupthink. Success in this business comes from leaning into what you do best, not following some rigid, one-size-fits-all playbook.

Existe algún Glassdoor de VCs o Business angels? Sería muy útil para emprendedores. Los buenos inversores aportan una barbaridad y pueden ayudarte a llegar muy lejos. Los malos pueden llegar a hundir a un emprendedor y su negocio.

Ni idea de si habrá gran victoria o no en el futuro pero después de llevar un tiempo cerca de @deale_app como board me parece el típico ejemplo de equipazo que le da más importancia a construir y crecer intentando resolver algo jodido de verdad, en lugar de hacer el juego de estatus en el ecosistema. Otras startups haciendo VC signaling con estos números o menos, en un momento tan complejo como el actual, se estarían llevando mucho más reconocimiento. Question to those who are on X and are fund managers in Europe and USA. I never did a fund of publicly traded shares but now I am very focused on biotech and started for myself a fund together with an analyst in my team that is performing very well. These are small cap biotech stocks. If I wanted to invite friends, and by friends I mean people I know, to invest with me and I get say a carry of 10% after they make 10%. Do I need to file with the SEC, or the CNMV or other regulatory bodies or can I invite friends to invest with me in that portfolio on those terms? I never did a fund of publicly traded shares. Only VC and I am hearing conflicting advise from different lawyers.
