@Pledditor You are normally spot on. It’s hard to believe you can’t see the correlation between the halving cycle and the price.

"OGs selling" or "4 year cycle" are such lame narratives to explain the price action. IMO the better explanation is that traders like speculating on stories, and from 2023-2025, we were able to chain together a series of bullish narratives for bitcoin that swing traders were able to latch onto. We always had some sort of a carrot to dangle on the end of a stick that always kept the price action bullish for the short/medium term. 1. Early 2023: Gary Gensler going after shitcoins 2. Early 2023: "BItcoin Season 2" 3. Early 2023: Banking crisis 4. Mid 2023: BlackRock ETF filing 5. Late 2023: Cointelegraph fake news 6. Early 2024: ETF approval 7. Mid 2024: Halving 8. Mid 2024: Trump bitcoin conference speech 9. Late 2024: Trump election win 10. Late 2024: Sovereign wealth funds buying 11. Early 2025: SBR 12. Mid 2025: Paper Bitcoin Summer I think the problem with the price action now is that the ETF at this point is old news, the SBR turned out to be a giant nothing burger, and the jig is up for the unprofitable companies who were only able to buy bitcoin by raising PIPEs and diluting shareholders. So what is the next bullish catalyst? I don't know. And I think the lack of a clear narrative for the medium term is why the traders are finally unwinding positions to chase whatever the next shiny object is.
