I’ve met hundreds of Muslim folks over the years and almost all of them, like almost all of us white Brits, just want to get by and bring up their children as best they can.

4/ So yes: Muslims often live peacefully now. But classically, it's temporary — strategic pause. Reformists: goal spiritual. Classical sources: dominance fixed; coexistence until achieved. @Conservatives @UKLabour

3/ How do they work together? Phased & tactical — as the Prophet did. Weak phase (West today): da’wah, migration, build influence, live peacefully (hudna truce). Strong phase: expand to dominance. Model: Treaty of Hudaybiyyah — broken when stronger to conquer Mecca.

1/ Islam’s end goal is explicit: “to make the religion of truth prevail over all religion” (Quran 9:33, 48:28 & 61:9). Hadith: “I have been ordered to fight the people until they say ‘La ilaha illallah’” (Bukhari & Muslim). Aim = Islam supreme worldwide, this is non-negotiable.

The Muslim population in the UK is about 7% so I fail to understand why they are so dominant in British politics. For a religious minority they appear to dominate the way our country should be run. Imagine what it will be like as that percentage keeps rising.

Just got back from my morning visit to @ThermopylaeRIP He remains tired but signs of his humour returning. It's the weekend so I can't get much of an update on his medical status but save for any unexpected turns he looks on the path to recovery, albeit not a short road. I've got his phone working again. If you send a message, I'd just ask that you remind him you don't expect a reply, but just want to pass on your thoughts, etc. He just doesn't have the energy to reply, even though he ordinarily would. More news when I have it.

@ThermopylaeRIP update He’s tired but now in a hospital local to his house. It’s a matter of resting and recovering now. Cards delivered, he thanks all that sent one. I think I almost saw a touch of emotion in his eyes but I’m sure I’m wrong… He is now replete with Twixes, Crunchies and After eights although currently not up to eating. View from hospital room window is nice, shame @ThermopylaeRIP can’t see it.
