I introduced a resolution to recognize March as Long COVID Awareness Month to raise awareness about the millions of people living with persisting symptoms after a COVID-19 infection. @chydorina @laboflivedexp That’s a good starting point and design brief. I’m in the final sprint to get this UN campaign over the line next week, but then shall we try to build an online forum for this and invite some designers and systems thinkers along? The challenge is they are all on LI mostly

the question is (in my mind) how to stop people from medical euthanasia - if there was an alternative.... and how to get the data from this group - arguably the most important and least studied cohort - and also maybe the cohort where really big improvements could take place. maybe we could reliably get patients from very-severe to severe - this might be more reliable even than from moderate to mild....

We need a MECFS organization that is actually an acute-care research hospital. A place where there are doctors and nurses and associated medically trained staff. Patients would be airlifted there and cared for through the 'very-severe' stages. Once survival would be possible back at home - with proper ongoing distance care - they would be discharged. It would double as an 'extreme cases' MECFS research center - and it is from these extreme cases where the biggest breakthroughs will be made. Personally when I think of what type of advocacy organization I would want to financially support - this is what it would be. I believe many of the people that have decided to die (or those that died in regular hospitals from mistreatment) would not have if a place like this was available. If I was not sick myself this is what I would start. An actual global medical/research facility for the most severe cases.

I mean my guess is that I'm the only person in the country who is making these graphs and looking at them. I would bet you eight euros that there is not a single person in the NHS looking at these graphs for themselves.

And did I post this one already for Core Training... Covid infections cause a reduction in sets of your immune cells that fight infections... and when you keep catching covid that effect keeps getting worse, so you're increasingly prone to being off sick with cold cough flu.

@chydorina @laboflivedexp Yes exactly the immediate need is for those who are in the more perm and v severe “living death” category. I think our community can co-design these life-support services and own them as well. I just need to work out which parts of my ecosystem to connect together.

great for those that can still be looked after in homes....it seems though that there is a big group that cannot be treated properly without round the clock care. i am not talking here about housebound or even bedbound. I am talking about those that need feeding tubes, those that are dying in hospitals.....
