They aren't, the SAVE Act will not pass this session, and they have more important actions to do, such as passing nominations (something Thune has been fantastic on) Time on the Senate floor is limited, and the minority can stall out nearly everything for hours and hours. If the choice is between not passing a bill, and passing nominations, objectively the right option is to pass nominations. The fillibuster is staying for the 119 and probably 120th Congress full stop. After that is the idea of a talking filibuster which probably won't work because neither the majority nor minority can stomach being on the floor that long. Not to mention a standing filibuster is going around the filibuster to multiple members of the GOP, probably meaning it won't even pass that way. Next is firing the parliamentarian, you can fire her, but the next person will also block the SAVE Act from being in any reconciliation. The rules are pretty clear, and this woman blocked dems from doing amnesty in 21. There is an objective set of rules, which overriding would be equal to nuking the filibuster, which means its not happening. There is also no fault of Thune on this, there is nothing more he or Barraso can do. You cannot whip Senators the same way you can whip House members. The Senate is inherently resistant to sudden pressure, and with 3 retiring and 1 Senator not up until 28, what are you going to do to them? Nothing. They were designed with this concept built in. Which is why they aren't elected every two years. You can argue whether the GOP should or shouldn't nuke the filibuster, but the objective truth is for this Congress and likely for the 120th, its not going anywhere.

@gofishh77 This is a tantrum. Tantrums are hard. Every child does this at some point. Some stay in this stage for a couple weeks, some for a couple months. Looks overtired to me, which happens often. I wouldnt be surprised if this little one was asleep 3 seconds into the drive.

This is WILD and in my opinion is not going to age well! What stands out here is not that H.A.M. (Higgins,Albert’s,McCabes) attorneys sent a warning letter. Lawyers send demand letters, preservation letters, and notice letters every single day. What stands out is that @Timcast with 2 mil+ followers canceled a scheduled appearance after receiving the letter and then PUBLICLY told people not to follow or read the TB’s content. That was not smart! Kearney is going to get more eyes on his content than ever before this may be a blessing despite how infuriating this is! Let’s be clear… filing a lawsuit does not transform allegations into facts. The plaintiffs have every right to pursue their claims in court. The defendants have every right to defend themselves. Until a judge or jury decides otherwise, the allegations in a complaint remain allegations. Tim Pool has every right to cancel an appearance on his platform. Nobody is disputing that. But when @DoctorTurtleboy is discussing arguably one of the most publicly debated criminal and now civil cases in the country is removed after litigation threats are made, people are obviously going to ask questions! The First Amendment exists for difficult, controversial, and unpopular speech. The real concern is not that a lawyer sent a letter. The concern is whether the threat of litigation is becoming the mechanism by which public debate is chilled. And let’s be honest, telling people “DO NOT FOLLOW HIM OR READ WHAT HE IS SAYING” is bizarre. If the goal was to stop people from paying attention, history has shown that strategy usually accomplishes the exact opposite. Ever heard of Streisand Effect?! No matter where you stand on this underlying lawsuit, the idea that legal threats can influence who gets heard and who gets silenced in a discussion about a matter of enormous public interest should concern EVERYONE.

On the evening of May 28th, approximately 100 anti-ICE rioters gathered around the Delaney Hall ICE facility. Rioters bit, kicked, and punched law enforcement officers. Governor Sherrill refused to allow state police to assist our officers. Assaulting and obstructing @ICEgov law enforcement is a crime and felony. Throughout the night, nine rioters were arrested. Anyone who assaults law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Law and order will prevail.
