Terrible news: a 43-year-old cyclist critically injured in collision with a 366 bus last week has died of his injuries. He is the fourth person known to have died cycling in London in 2026. His death was announced @TfL board meeting at the same time as two other bus fatalities.

@OpenChiswickW4 Anyone who’s interested in how bad the situation is with TfL buses should look at @comadad’s work. It is a wormhole which just gets worse as you read more into it. It truly is an avoidable dark side of TfL. 😔

@BrixtonHatter Yeah. Isn't it odd Mayor & TfL didn't take a big safety win here? 1st Press Release issued 4 March—nearly a week after the 26 Feb approval—doesn't even imply protecting lives was a catalyst. Ignoring lots of Bus KSIs doesn't seem very #VisionZero IMHO. london.gov.uk/mayor-confirms…

Good point on this blog about how media coverage of Oxford Street pedestrianisation has focused on perceived inconvenience to motorists rather than the big safety wins. 4 deaths & 125 injuries in this area since the Mayor originally stated his intention to pedestrianise in 2016.
