Latest statement generated yesterday. Points redeemable today. Transfer with 50% bonus executed! 🚀 50% bonus of 1.31L miles to be credited before 1st August. Most of it was earned at an 18% multiplier. With the 50% bonus, that’s effectively a 27% miles reward rate. The real value can be even higher (or lower too), depending on the redemption. Up next: Times Black Points (check quoted post for context) Points courtesy #GoldDeals @GoldDealsIndia

Thanks to the Air India 50% bonus and the fact that it’s the only miles partner for ICICI Bank cards, I’m going all in and moving my entire points balance to Air India. That should mint roughly 1.1 lakh bonus miles. Or, if you think like some #ccgeeks, that’s about 9 one-way Thailand tickets just from the additional bonus 🤓 Last month, my default spend card was HDFC Infinia, largely because of the Visa x FIFA offer. This month, I’m switching gears to EPM. Here’s the game plan. Current EPM balance is 1,97,468, which already puts me in the 50% bonus tier. The idea is simple. Route all high-return GV spends, which are around 18%, along with regular base spends to EPM and push the balance closer to 2.2 lakh. I’ll transfer everything towards the end of the month to squeeze out the maximum bonus, which should land me around 1.1 lakh bonus miles. (Usually I swipe HSBC Premier for the base spends) The bonus effectively bumps Gift card returns from 18% to 27%, and base rewards from 3% to 4.5% for the EPM holders, and for the Times Black holders, the reward rate converts to EPM at 50% bonus tier. (2% → 3%, 12% → 18%) That’s the plan on paper. Let’s see how it actually plays out towards the end of the month 😄 There’s also a conundrum in the first comment 👇

Hi all, Sitting on these Taj vouchers with no plans in sight. Need suggestions on some must visit properties that I can burn them on? Also a list of properties to avoid. 😆 Not interested in any Mumbai Taj properties. Preferably some place with direct flight from Mumbai?

Everyone loves the headline number. Very few calculate the actual cost. 👀 Current trend: “Buy product → get massive Supercoins → convert to Air India miles” Sounds insane on paper. But here’s the part nobody wants to discuss: You are often buying a product priced at ~2.5x–3x its real market value just to manufacture miles. Example math: ₹10k-ish real value product listed around ₹20-25k. Let’s say you purchase 2-3 of the same items. → You get ~67k Supercoins for say products worth 25k (remember which you weren’t even planning to buy) → After doing all the mental maths and on a specific date you convert them to get ~65k Air India points So what actually happened? You didn’t “earn free miles”. You effectively BOUGHT ~65k Air India points by overpaying ₹40-45k on a product you probably never intended to buy at that price in the first place. That’s roughly ~0.7-0.8₹ per AI mile. Now ask yourself: Would you directly buy Air India points at that valuation? Probably not. Why ? Because for economy class, considering opportunity cost lost with all the miles you earn back on cards and with airlines on revenue booking, this 0.7-0.8 valuation seems a lot inflated. And with business class or even PE, maharaja isn’t a great value program anyways. Yes, there ARE scenarios where this can work: • If you genuinely needed that exact product • If the product resale value remains strong • If you value AI miles extremely highly post revaluation But portraying this as “free products” or “crazy loophole” is misleading. The real win in points & miles has always been: ✔️ Organic spends ✔️ Transfer bonuses ✔️ Smart redemptions ✔️ Arbitrage NOT forced spending disguised as rewards. Sometimes the cheapest miles are the ones you never bought emotionally #ccgeeks

You only start appreciating certain features when you’re in absolute soup 😅Our numbers are prepaid and don’t work in J&K area. So while every other card has taken a backseat, Amex has suddenly moved to the front seat, simply because they send OTPs on email as well 🙌 ✅Small features BUT massive convenience.

Accor points are not just for hotel stays. That’s the real beauty. Burn them for: 🍽️ Food 💆 Spa 🚕 Airport transfers 🍹 Experiences As long as the hotel allows billing it to your room, your Accor points can quietly turn into a full vacation currency.

Okay this place genuinely blew my mind. I could just sit and admire the views all day long. Just an hour from the airport (with super easy connectivity from most major cities), and suddenly you’re in the middle of hundreds of acres of tea estates, with clouds literally floating around you and views that don’t even feel real. You wake up, step out, and it’s all lush green + mist everywhere. Go for long walks or treks through tea gardens, hit the spa, eat really solid food, and just slow down for a bit. If you’ve got kids, they’re sorted too, play areas, activities, the whole scene. They also have loads of paid activities like fully managed treks, tea factory visits, camping.. etc. Evenings are a vibe - live music every night, grab a drink, sit back, and just chill. Food is amazing, you have the option to choose from local himalayan cuisine, to Bengali favourites, north indian food or western cuisine. There’s also a temperature-controlled pool, and a gym (which honestly you won’t need because you’ll be walking a lot anyway). And the best part? You can actually book this using Epicure membership or Taj vouchers… which makes it feel like a steal for what you’re getting. Used both my EPM vouchers for stay and dining vouchers on meals, rest of spends paid via amex Taj vouchers ☺️ It's @TajHotels Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa! PS: Found a "hack" to crack availability via free night voucher, if you don't find availability at a certain property for your dates, call and book the next level category room (you've to pay the diff of course which you can pay via vouchers on checkout). Online It just shows the base category rooms. 😉

Monkeys in Bali, especially at Uluwatu Temple are SCARY and a absolute MENACE 😭 They are constantly hunting to snatch your phones and sunglasses 🐒 I had seen all those videos… did not think I myself will become the victim until it actually happened 😭 First time wearing my power sunglasses (just before the trip I got this super chic pair from the Lenskart x Meller collection) and within seconds… gone 😭 I have a very high power (-4) and thankfully I had a spare or I would be roaming around almost blind. Even after I wore my normal sunglasses, still managed to escape another monkey attack. Just a very, very bad day for me The ONLY thing that kept me sane that day was that I wasnt wearing my Prada sunglasses, and the fact that they didn’t take my phone, or else I would have genuinely broken down. It would have been a very, very expensive heartbreak 😭 Honest take: be VERY careful here or just skip it. Not worth the stress. They were troubling kids as well For sunset, there are much better places in Uluwatu. I was chilling at Malini Cafe, and I really don’t know why I insisted my husband head to Uluwatu Temple, maybe because I wanted to see the Kecak dance, but that was also just about okay, nothing extraordinary And if you still go, just be super, super careful. The monkeys are actually really scary (and batameez)

The results of the recent state elections have been dramatic by any measure. But for me, this image will remain the most unforgettable outcome of the elections. More than 166,000 votes were cast between the two leading candidates in this constituency in Tamil Nadu. And history was changed by just one vote. This image should be shown in every school in the country & perhaps around the world. So that every child understands that when they grow up, the greatest power they may possess is the Power of One. The power of their one vote.
