@BCarpenterBooks I'll boldly disagree! I dislike reading chapter names in books. They're like mini-spoilers.

"Name your chapters!" they say. "Name your chapters!" ...so NOW I have to write down the name of EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER in EVERY BOOK so I don't use the same chapter name twice. Thanks a lot, "writing community."

@SDDonovan In my writing, my favorite characters are the ones that have a mind of their own and start doing things that make me uncomfortable.

Characters do tend to do very unexpected things. 😅

Can you help me rescue this book? In summer last year, a bunch of 1 star ratings appeared on Goodreads, shattering it's previous good ⭐️ rating. The book had been unpublished for 18 months at the time. These all came from trolls. I'm not going to go into why the trolls came after me - I want to put that behind me. But let's just say there are some very nasty people out there. I'm re-releasing it in June and hope I can repair some of the damage before then. #readersoftwitter #writingcommunity What genre of book did you try to read and just were like “nope not for me”? Maybe it’s not a genre for me, but things that are dreamworld type books, kind of throw me. Which is strange because a lot of it is fantasy, which I love.

@BraydenRWrites You're not crazy. When I got a rejection after my one and only full manuscript request, I felt like I won the lottery, just for making it that far.

This rejection was so freaking sweet and encouraging. Near misses are hard. The book is an upmarket genre blend so I totally get it. Am i crazy or do some full rejections mean a lot and feel like letting out a breath?

Writers, it's time I twist my ballcap on backward, sit astride my desk chair, and have a straight talk with you. Capitalizing the first word after a colon is bad for you. Just say no.
