@Rob_FitLegacy 7 days of lifting is obviously too much. But recovery for some muscle groups also happens during training days of others. So recovery broadly is what’s required more so than lots of ‘days off’ specifically

Rob - Fit For Life - Stronger Every Decade
Unpopular opinion: Rest days are where progress happens. You don't grow in the gym. You grow recovering from it. Training 7 days a week isn't dedication. It's poor planning.

@NickQuient I read an advance copy - I thought it was very fair as well. Even if someone disagrees, he seems to me to lay out the arguments and assess them from his perspective. One can agree or not in each case.

Reading now. Will have a video review in a few days. I’m already impressed with Preston’s nuance and fairness. Preston might (might) even join me in the future!

The narrator for the audio version of Theo of Golden is so good. Perfectly matched.

Thoughtful essay about @Harvard professor Michael Sandel and his efforts to encourage thoughtful, nuanced conversations about morality in the public sphere. I think he's right that people yearn for this: nytimes.com/2026/03/01/bri…

@mitchellchase Yeah that’s one place where I also disagree with him. I like most of his eschatology book though and found this four views book interesting overall.

In Pennsylvania we've got sun today and it's downright balmy at 48 degrees. I took the bike out and I wasn't the only one on a motorcycle today.

@drantbradley That's my oldest. He locked in / didn't date really and was high school valedictorian and a great kid and got into a great college.

Parents of boys, it’s perfectly ok if your son doesn’t date anyone during his high school years. If he wants to instead focus on locking-in to build other core life competencies, that’s even better. He’ll be fine. Pressuring them to date at that age is entirely unnecessary.

Alright I basically read this yesterday afternoon. Excellent little work. Always love @hlsenkbeil. And Baker’s acquisition of @LexhamPress doesn’t seem to have hurt the quality of the printing product a bit.

The call to remove empathy from the Christian vocabulary feels like an overcorrection to me. This is a helpful and clarifying word on the value and virtue of empathy from @joe_rigney.
