CTVers is the group I love the most in Bitcoin. If they existed in Lord of the Rings, they'd be the Silvan Elves in Lothlórien. They are reasonable, thoughtful, understanding, bold people who think for themselves and are capable of doing what's right. But the way you have to think about Bitcoin consensus is like this: imagine that Bitcoin is the whole Middle Earth. There are Nazgûls, Cave trolls, Balrogs, Goblins, Hobbits, Elves, Humans, Orcs, Wizards and all kinds of shit in Middle Earth. To reach consensus on a softfork, you gotta find a flag bearer in each of those camps. You have to find prominent Nazgûls, Cave trolls, Balrogs, Goblins, Hobbits, Elves, Humans, Orcs, Wizards and all kinds of shit who support that specific softfork! I cannot simply take the position that just because I vibe with the Silvan Elves in Lothlórien, CTV is the softfork that's going to happen next. That's simply not how Bitcoin works. As expressed by my image above, OP_CAT is the opcode with the most flag bearers from wildly different camps of Middle Earth. In our current situation, it is thus the most likely opcode to pass through the gates of Mordor, and the most likely saviour of Middle Earth.
