@Dougvozm @blaiklockBP @Phil_Invest What a ridiculous comment. So as she is the mother of a disabled child she should be held to any sort of account? So if murdered someone we should just ignore it as she can’t be targeted as the mother of a disabled child?!?

@Dougvozm @blaiklockBP @Phil_Invest It is clear cut. It just needs a tax expert on it to advise. She was told TWICE that she needed/should do that and ignored it. Quite obviously “careless”

@AllisonPearson @MTeam44785 I can’t even get an appointment. There is no phone rush as we have to download a form at 8am that gets triaged - and it’s a bun fight with none available. I literally cannot get an appointment 😢 and I pay so much tax for this

Wes Streeting claims biggest fall in NHS waiting lists for 17 years. Total joke. *GPs struggle to get patient onto list * Appointments cancelled count as reduction in list * Patient dies on list (result!) * Patient despairs and goes private * Repeat

@JuliaHB1 @mitsyarty Spot on. I just don’t understand how these lefties manage to get the state apparatus to work in their favour ALL the time. It’s quite blatantly a stitch up that this was announced today so she can run. How do they get all these people onside that rush things through?

How on earth has Angela Rayner been "cleared" by HMRC? She didn't pay the extra £40,000 stamp duty that was due. She didn't take the specialist tax advice on her flat purchase that she was advised to take. She failed to pay the extra stamp duty that she, as Housing Secretary, had brought in for second home purchasers. For HMRC not to issue a fine means they judged her decision as "reasonable care" having been taken, or it was possibly "careless", but not a "deliberate" underpayment. She clearly did not take "reasonable care" to ensure her tax was correct. And if it was "careless", it was *deliberate* carelessness. Do you seriously think that if YOU underpaid your taxes by £40,000 as the then Deputy Prime Minister did, that you would get away without a fine? Sorry, but this stinks.
Pippa Crerar@PippaCrerar

EXCL: Angela Rayner has been cleared by HMRC of deliberate wrongdoing or carelessness over her tax affairs, paving the way for a potential leadership bid if Keir Starmer’s grip on power unravels. The former DPM has settled £40,000 in unpaid stamp duty, but has not paid any penalty as a result of the investigation. HMRC was also satisfied there was no tax avoidance. Rayner tells me she was “bruised” by whole experience because of intrusion into her disabled son’s personal life, but also because it had appeared as though she was “in it for myself” rather than on the side of ordinary people. Rayner indicated she may run in event of a contest as she would “play my part” and that she understood why Labour MPs were so upset following last week’s election crushing. She said Starmer should “reflect on” stepping aside.

Bridget Philipson brilliant. Wouldn't let Trevor Phillips interrupt her. So pleased she's on the media round this morning. Why are the panels on both sky and BBC, journalists that have spent 20 months slagging off Labour? Bias.......

#bbcqt Victoria Atkins talking about the choices they made after the ‘last Labour Gov bankrupted the country’. It’s common knowledge that austerity was a choice by the Tories and not necessity.

@20splentyforus @123db_GEEK What has the number of cars got to do with it? If anything more cars naturally slows average speeds meaning less need for ridiculous intervention

@123db_GEEK Actually, if you read the history of speed limits you will find that the temporary 30mph limit set for lit roads in 1934 did not have any justification other than being a reasonable compromise. Note that at the time there were only 1.5m cars in the whole of the UK.

Parties obsessing about having 20mph limits only outside schools and hospitals are ignoring independent data showing default 20mph urban speed limits lowers casualties by 26%. Going backwards to 30mph would increase casualties by 33%, cost millions and increase load on NHS A&E.

@LauraTrottMP Stuff like this is why I lost interest in the Conservatives. You claim to have “changed” but underneath the surface, you’ve naively pushed a route towards Digital ID. Just so tedious.

We did it. Just 18 months ago Labour said a social media ban was not something they were considering. They have now finally committed to social media restrictions for under 16s. This is a huge victory and a pivotal moment for children across our country after months of delay and empty promises. This is down to the courage of bereaved parents who fought not for their own children but for other peoples children. They are the reason I kept fighting and the reason I would not accept a timetable that allowed the Government to avoid action in this Parliament. We now have a more credible delivery timeline and that matters because every month of delay leaves more children exposed to harm. This victory also belongs to the hard work of Lord Nash, teachers, health professionals, parents and children who spoke out and refused to be ignored. Conservatives in opposition said we would fight to protect childhood and stand with parents and we have shown we will hold the Government to account and deliver change.
Raise The Age@RaiseTheAge16

🚨 BREAKING: A huge win for our children. The Government has committed to raising the age limit for harmful social media to 16. Thank you to every parent, teacher, health professional, police officer and supporter who spoke out, stood firm and helped make this happen.

20mph Speed Limits... People arguing for permission to kill more children so they can get to work 5 minutes quicker will be studied by scholars of populism and the rise of the Far Right in years to come. 🤷

If you don’t have a Mac and are trying to keep up with cutting edge AI, you literally can’t. Everything is Mac only or Mac first. This is a huge deal. Leading AI products are essentially built for Mac, with everything else being an afterthought. This is significant

For the love of God... Imagine having so little to do that you order an enquiry into whether bigger cars cause more road damage. Let me save you the time and money @MayorofLondon... Yes, they do. It's called physics. You're welcome. It's also 2026 and unless you want us all on horseback, a developed nation should be able to accommodate vehicles that are normal in other developed nations... Fix the bloody roads. Remove your snooping cameras. Make things work! It's not hard. Ps I presume you'll be swapping your state-funded, blacked out SUV for a bicycle now?
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan@MayorofLondon

Experts are saying it: SUVs damage our roads more than ordinary passenger cars. I’ve asked @TfL to look into the effect of supersized SUVs in London as more of these vehicles take up space on London’s roads. theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/a…
