The FinTech Forum featured panelists discussing how to take stock of progress and strengthen trust within the fintech ecosystem. Panelists agreed that trust in Rwanda’s fintech ecosystem must be built through shared responsibility among regulators, infrastructure providers, fintechs, and partners. They acknowledged progress in digital payments, innovation, and financial inclusion, while highlighting remaining gaps in interoperability, infrastructure reliability, and fair access to core systems. The discussion emphasized stronger collaboration, clearer standards, and partnerships that go beyond transactions to create long-term value, with consumer protection and accountability at the center of sustainable fintech growth. In his remarks, Hon. @yves_Iradukunda , Minister of State at the @RwandaICT , reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the ICT ecosystem. He emphasized that the Ministry is ready to support the sector by addressing key challenges, working closely with stakeholders, and creating an enabling environment where innovation can grow and scale sustainably.

Building #Trust in Education Technology The EdTech Forum featured @ClaudetteIrere , Minister of State at @Rwanda_Edu , alongside a panel of experts discussing how technology can transform Rwanda’s education sector. From her words, the Minister highlighted the shift over the last five years from manual processes to data-driven digital systems, noting that these innovations have reduced administrative burdens, improved decision-making, and expanded connectivity. She emphasized the need for an #EdTechtrustseal to ensure solutions are scalable, sustainable, and integrated, stressing that Rwanda’s economy will succeed only if policy, innovation, and operational capacity move in the same direction. The panel discussion also focused on the theme “Aligning EdTech with National Digital Transformation.” Panelists emphasized multi stakeholder coordination to bridge gaps between infrastructure, innovation, and end users. They highlighted that EdTech solutions must align with the curriculum through #SSP to address real challenges in education and support sustainable growth.

#DTW2025 | Day4 Today felt special. The launch of the #RwandaSoftwareTestingCommunity was a real moment of connection, purpose, and shared vision. Hosted by Rwanda Software Testing Qualifications Board (#RWSTQB) together with Digital Business Institute (#DBI), TestSolutions Rwanda, International Software Quality Institute (#ISQI), Rwanda ICT Chamber, the Ministry of ICT and innovation, and International Software Testing Qualifications Board (#ISTQB), the gathering brought people into one room with the same belief: that quality software can truly change lives. Yves Iradukunda, the Minister of State, in his words of support, reminded us that this journey is not walked alone and that the work of this community is both seen and valued at the national level. What stood out most were the honest conversations about why software testing matters. We were reminded that technology moves fast, but quality must move with it. Improving how we test, certify, and trust software is not just about systems, it is about people, opportunities, and the future we are building. The idea of having clear standards and independent proof of skill resonated deeply, especially in a world where experience alone is no longer enough without quality to back it up. This launch marked the beginning of something bigger than a program. It is the start of a community that wants to grow confident and skilled professionals who can compete globally while staying rooted in Rwanda. A shift from working in isolation to learning together, from being scattered to being united, and from being overlooked to being recognized. #Testingsolutions

#DTW2025 | Day 3 - Public-Private Dialogue on Digital Trade and Trust On Day 3 of the Digital Transformation Week 2025, the program featured a high-level Public-Private Dialogue focused on accelerating digital trade and innovation through strong trust frameworks. The session brought together #public and #private sector leaders to explore how standards and trust mechanisms can unlock regional and global market opportunities. The dialogue was officially opened by Ernest Kayinamura, Chairman of the Board of the ICT Chamber, who thanked public and private sector representatives for their continued commitment to accelerating Rwanda’s digital transformation. He emphasized that trust is the currency of digital trade and encouraged companies and institutions to take advantage of the ongoing Trust Seal acquisition exercise to strengthen credibility and market confidence. During the session, participants were introduced to the GS1 initiative, positioned as Rwanda’s business gateway to global trade. #GS1 was presented as a standards system that integrates and boosts the visibility of Rwandan products in global commodity markets, enabling better traceability and international recognition. Participants were also briefed on the ongoing #TrustSeal acquisition exercise, another standards-based system designed to address compliance and confidence challenges for digital solutions and products. The Trust Seal was highlighted as a tool that simplifies company classification and vetting during procurement processes, making it easier for trusted businesses to compete fairly. Contributing to the discussion, Ngenzi Kirenga, Chief Digital Officer at @RwandaTrade , stressed that the time has come to move from principles to practice. He noted that standards are not just technical details but the foundation of digital trust. Without shared standards, trust remains subjective and difficult to scale. He called on stakeholders to elevate the Trust Seal and position it as a nationally recognized and trusted standard. Moderating the open discussion, Alex Ntale, CEO of the ICT Chamber, clarified that Trust Seals are not meant to replace existing standards but to provide visibility, consolidation, and confidence across the ecosystem. In her closing remarks, Hon. Paula Ingabire, Minister of @RwandaICT , emphasized that markets do not integrate out of goodwill but through standards. She explained that standards enable systems to communicate, institutions to trust each other, and markets to scale beyond borders. She highlighted that many local firms struggle not because they lack innovation, but because trust mechanisms are missing. She noted that losing tenders due to missing records is often a trust issue rather than a capability issue. The Minister concluded by stating that standards are not constraints but rails that help industries to move faster. She described the Trust Seal as an export passport for opportunities both at home and beyond, calling for standards to be treated as national priorities and for trust frameworks to be harmonized internationally to better support the private sector. #DigitalTrade #TrustFrameworks #DTW2025 #ICTChamber #PublicPrivateDialogue #Innovation
