@feathersardines @shawncbrown Yes you have to order an Imperial Pint to get the full monty
English

@shawncbrown In South Australia, a 'pint' is 425ml, so slightly larger than a traditional can of beer.
English

When Americans refer to a beer, they mean 330ml cans/bottles. When Brits/Aussies refer to a beer we means a pint (568ml).
Their 6 beers is 3.5 British/Aussie beers (or 4 500ml European beers).
No wonder drinking confuses them, and they think they out drink us!

I don't know who needs to hear this but if you can comfortably house 7 negronis you have a drinking problem.

Asking God, in a public prayer, to help a political leader make wise decisions, care for the poor, seek peace, foster harmony, and try to include all those who feel excluded? Yes. Comparing a political leader, in a public prayer, to the sinless Son of God during Holy Week? No.

Paula White compares Trump to Jesus during event with faith leaders: "You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It's a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us. Because of His resurrection, you rose up."

Well mate, if you voted One Nation at a South Australian state level because the level of migration is your main concern, there's one word for you.

@TMFScottP @PeteWargent So you’d shell out for an inspection prior to every auction you were considering making a bid on? Sounds like that’s only benefiting the property inspection industry. Onus should be on the seller and their real estate agent to show any and all defects to potential sellers
English

@PeteWargent @egmercer Me too.
It's a million dollar purchase.
English

Two things:
1. The number of people who would trust a report provided by a seller is scary.
2. Trying to save $500 on a ~$1m purchase by not doing your own due diligence is an extraordinarily bad bet.
Which inspector is a seller going to choose? The hard-arse, or the lazy one?

If you understand incentives, you know why this is a *terrible* idea.

"It’s a frightening reality of the Trump regime that, as he's descended into utter incoherence and is now nothing more than an assortment of adolescent (and frequently violent) urges, the government has been remade into a tool for the immediate satisfaction of his desires no matter how nihilistic they may be." publicnotice.co/p/trump-excurs…

"When past presidents balked at the possibility of war with Iran, they weren’t just dodging a hard choice; they were deterred by all the obvious reasons a conflict could perilously spiral. Nobody should be shocked that the expected is now coming to pass" theatlantic.com/international/…

@DavidAFrench My father-in-law (Australian) fought in Korea. They’d often be rotated through American bases and always looked forward to it for the food - “they had steaks!” - which they marvelled at compared to the left over WWII rations they otherwise had to make do with.
English

When I was in Iraq serving at a very remote FOB not far from the Iranian border, we had steak and crab legs almost every Sunday. It was the military’s version of a thank you meal, and it was very appreciated. There are lots of things to be outraged at, but feeding our deployed troops well is not one of them.

Wisdom from Winston Churchill: “Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that any one who embarks on that strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter. The Statesman who yields to war fever must realise that once the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of unforeseeable and uncontrollable events.”

I saw this quote for the first time yesterday: “Someone dies in combat. At Brigade level, he’s a social security number and a status that gets tracked to Landstuhl. At Div, he’s a storyboard. At Corps, he’s a statistic. At Platoon and Company, he’s a gaping wound in the soul of 100 men. To his family, it’s the end of the world." -Jim Gourley
