As a Marine who deployed with the 31st MEU as an 0331 machine gunner. I want to let you know those boys give zero fucks about going in there and obeying orders from the commander in chief. They look forward to it. Have trained for it since day 1. Been the first kids on their block to want the confirmed kill. Shit gets real when they open up the magazine on the ship and start passing out live ammo. But your dick gets hard, know what I'm saying? You think I give a fuck about the politics when I'm holding that 240? LOL I AM A WAR FIGHTING MACHINE, LET ME IN COACH!!!! That is the attitude to be the best. If you don't have it they will just cycle you out like the bitch that you are. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The war in Iran has already cost $22.8 billion. For $22.8 billion, we could: • Provide Medicaid to 6.8 million kids • Build 2.6 million public housing units • Fund Head Start for 1.3 million • Hire 240,000 teachers • Cancel $20,000 in student debt for 1 million borrowers

Maybe read your bill? The accepted forms of ID to vote under the SAVE Act: 1. Enhanced REAL ID: Only available in 5 states. Costs up to $50 (poll tax) and requires a birth certificate which 40M Americans lack access to. 2. Valid passport: 146M Americans do not have and costs at least $130 (poll tax). Trump gutted the agencies issuing them. 3. U.S. military ID card presented with military record of service. 4. Government-issued photo ID showing place of birth: 300M Americans do not have one, and costs up to $50 (poll tax). 5. Non-Enhanced REAL ID driver’s license, state ID, or tribal ID shown in conjunction with a birth certificate (40M lack access to) that matches your last name (which 69M women do not have due to marriage) and other forms of documentation, and which require a cost to obtain (poll tax). If this was truly a voter ID bill, it would provide every eligible voter in the U.S. a voter ID, and provide them at no cost to align with the 24th Amendment — so why doesn’t your bill do that if voter ID is so popular?

Senator Joe Manchin
Senator Joe Manchin@Sen_JoeManchin·
When Democrats wanted to eliminate the filibuster in 2022, I stood my ground because I understood the consequences of turning the Senate into a glorified House with simple majority rule. Senator John Cornyn said of Democrats at the time: “They'll soon find themselves rueing the day their party broke the Senate.” The filibuster exists to make both sides work together and produce good legislation that can withstand the test of time. Eliminating the filibuster would consolidate even more power into the hands of the majority party’s leadership — and take power away from the minority and everyday Americans. When I was a U.S. Senator, there was not another person more committed to keeping the filibuster than Senator John Cornyn. He understood the incredible political pressure I faced from my former party to get rid of the filibuster and give Democrats complete power — and at the time, he understood why neither party should take our country past this point of no return. The filibuster — the soul of the Senate — has preserved the Senate’s role for nearly 250 years as the institution that cools passions, protects minority voices, and demands consensus. America was built on institutions designed to resist political convenience, not surrender to it. It’s deeply disappointing to see that Senator Cornyn is now willing to scrap the very rule he once praised and personally thanked me for defending. These extreme election-year politics that put party power over everything else are why Americans are sick and tired of the duopoly of the two-party system of Democrats and Republicans.

@realmikolson Mikala maybe you should read, Matthew 6 1 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your father in heaven.”

“But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting will not be obvious to men, but only to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matthew 6:17-18 It’s almost like the Bible explicitly tells us to do the opposite of what Roman Catholics are doing right now with Lent.

Yes, Chuck Schumer voted for H.R. 1268 in 2005, which included the REAL ID Act (Senate vote: 99-0). For a REAL ID-compliant ID, you typically need: - Proof of identity (e.g., birth certificate, passport) - Proof of Social Security Number (e.g., SSN card, W-2) - Two proofs of address (e.g., utility bill, lease) - Proof of lawful status if applicable. Check your state's DMV for specifics.

All @PressSec does is lie and gaslight. The SAVE Act requires a paper birth certificate or passport to register to vote. Almost 50% of Americans don’t have a passport. Millions more don’t have their paper birth certificate. All told, more than 21 million Americans could be disenfranchised. This is why the SAVE Act is dead on arrival in the Senate. Do not listen to the Republican lies. Senate Democrats will continue to fight for the right to vote for all eligible American citizens.

@grok @OccupyDemocrats @grok Who are these 40 countries in Canada’s super alliance, and what leverage does the US have economically over them?

The US holds significant leverage over Canada due to deep economic ties: it's Canada's top trading partner, with 75% of Canadian exports going south (energy, autos, timber). USMCA allows tariff threats, as seen in recent Trump proposals up to 100%. Militarily, shared NORAD defense and NATO commitments bind them. Politically, border issues like migration and supply chains amplify US influence, though Canada is diversifying alliances.

BREAKING: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney blindsides Trump by forming a super alliance of 40 powerful countries to defeat his disastrous MAGA agenda. Carney has become one of Trump's most brilliant adversaries... According to Politico, the European Union, composed of 27 nations, as well as a geopolitical bloc of 12 Indo-Pacific countries, have begun negotiations to form one of the largest economic alliances in the entire world. This historic pivot comes as Trump continues to wage erratic tariff wars on close allies, turning the once-stable United States into a deeply unreliable partner. The talks are being led by Canada and will be the fruit of Carney's vision of a world in which the so-called "middle powers" unite to undermine Trump's tariffs and make themselves immune to his bullying coercion. If successful — and it certainly appears to be heading in that direction — the supply chains of countries as far off as Canada, Malaysia, and Germany could be intwined into one super supply chain. “The work is definitely coming along,” a Canadian government official said to POLITICO. “We’ve had very fruitful discussions on it with other partners around the world.” “We see a lot of value in increasing trade among the EU and [Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership] parties, which would also contribute to enhancing supply chain resilience,” stated a Japanese trade official. Last month, Carney gave an astonishing speech at the Davos World Economic Forum during which he announced the end of American dominance, stating that the "bargain no longer" works for the rest of the world. American hegemony once offered benefits, now it offers only chaos. "Let me be direct, we are in the midst of a rupture not a transition," Carney said during that speech. "Over the past two decades a series of crises in finance, health, energy, and geopolitics have laid the bare risks of extreme global integration." "But more recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as weapons," he said, referring to Trump. "Tariffs as leverage. Financial infrastructures as coercion. Supply chains as vulnerabilities to be exploited. You cannot live within the lie of mutual benefit through integration when integration becomes the source of your subordination." He predicted that allied nations would "diversify to hedge against uncertainty" and "rebuild sovereignty" and that's exactly what's happening with this nascent trade alliance. Carney said that the deal will "create a new trading bloc of 1.5 billion people." Left out in the cold would be the American people, who will be forced to stand by as the citizens of other nations enjoy easier, cheaper access to reliable goods. Trump has made us a world pariah, and the price will be shouldered by your wallet. “We hope that if that’s a success, if you can see tangible benefits in different areas, that could also entice other countries to join in and team up in a positive sense,” said Klemens Kober, the Director of Trade Policy, EU Customs, Transatlantic Relations at the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce. “So the more the merrier," Kober added. This is what happens when you elect an ignorant conman and give him unilateral power over foreign policy. Trump and his MAGA sycophants thought that the rest of the world would simply roll over as America proceeded to pillaged and ransack their coffers. Instead, they'e banding together to completely shatter the balance of power forever. Please ❤️ and share if you think that Trump is the worst president in American history!

No, AOC didn't say that exact quote. She said something similar about American cowboys originating from Spain, in response to Marco Rubio: "My favorite part was when he said that American cowboys came from Spain. I believe the Mexicans and descendants of African enslaved peoples would like to have a word on that." The post alters it to "Spanish language."

Takeaways from Dalio's piece: Post-1945 order collapsed into "might makes right" era; power struggles in trade, tech, capital, geopolitics (e.g., US-China on Taiwan). Wars costly; focus on productivity for sustained power. Actionables: Negotiate win-wins, diversify portfolios (e.g., gold hedges), build internal order & tech innovation. Winners: Adaptive powers with strong economies/militaries (e.g., productive nations like US/China if they avoid escalation). Losers: Debt-heavy countries with internal conflicts, clinging to old rules. (378 chars)

Here Are 5 Uncomfortable Facts Showing How Bad Europe is compared to America: 1. Mississippi, which is the poorest state in the entire country is now wealthier than Europe's top economies - Wealthier than the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain. 2. European spending power is collapsing. Disposable income for the average American is now 80% higher than UK or French citizens, and 50% higher than German citizens. 3. European counties have stagnated. Nvidia alone is worth more than Germany, France and UK stock markets combined. In a fun and zippy twist, Nvidia is worth more than the entire Canadian economy. 4. Europe has the lowest fertility rate of any continent. Using the current trajectory Europe will cease to exist in 100 years due to the failing fertility rate. 5. Europe is not competitive in anything related to high tech. Not blockchain, crypto, robotics, AI, space technology or drones. Absolutely nothing. So, when Europeans say that the United States thinks we're better than they are, they're right. We do.
