House has granted Hon. @NamaraDennisMP (Buyaga West) leave to introduce a private member’s bill entitled “The Administration of Parliament (Amendment) Bill” that seeks to allow all members of the opposition political parties to elect the Leader of Opposition as opposed to allowing the most numerically dominant opposition party in Parliament to do so as per the current law. In justifying his motion, Hon Namara said the prevailing grounds for removal of the Leader of Opposition from office are inadequate and require expansion to include incompetence and misconduct as a safeguard for accountability, efficiency and effectiveness. Hon. Patrick Nsamba (Kassanda North) opposed the move, saying that in the 11th Parliament, the same proposed bill was introduced and withdrawn by the mover, Hon. Richard Lumu, at the first reading. He was quickly challenged by Hon. @teira2k(Bugabula North), who sees no offence in returning any matter that was handled by the previous parliament, citing the Sexual Offences Bill that was re-tabled by Hon. @AdekeAnna. #PlenaryUg
