@Beth_NOT_Betty @mmorden @jillpromoli @dbpromotionsca Yes. All that time off sounds horrible indeed. I wouldn’t expect to get paid for it if I did tho. Those r the hours worked in that job. U get paid for what u work. I mean I wish it was different for everyone I do. But I haven’t found a job yet that will pay me not to work.

Important clarification: Teachers and education workers don’t have 131 #PaidSickDays. They have 11 sick days. Depending on their union and contract status, they may be able to access 120 short-term medical leave days. They are not the same thing. #onted #onlab

@jillpromoli @dbpromotionsca - 11 fully paid sick days - 120 short term disability days at 90% and only able to use w/ committee approval w/ doctors note. - 5 family days fully paid - sick/disability/family days are not banked or paid out. Use or lose - vacation and sick days are not interchangeable

@fordnation @JustinTrudeau Honestly with the amount of Covid and flu going around .. it may not be a bad idea to close the classrooms right now🤷🏽‍♂️

I spoke with Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau and made clear that shutting down classrooms would have an unacceptable impact on students. I reiterated that Ontario is determined, if necessary, to pass legislation to keep classrooms open and ensure stability for parents and students.

@DesmondCole Within 4 years that cop makes $110,000. The educational worker still makes $49,000. And not all make $49,000. EA make $26/hr. On a 7 hour day. On a 10 month year. LAID OFF all summer, and Christmas and March break.

interesting to see Ontario's education minister complain that 80 cents of every dollar spent on education goes to pay and benefits this is also true of policing a full-time OPP officer who finishes training makes $75,000/yr a full-time education worker makes $49,000/yr

The Fed is expected to raise interest rates again today by .75% in a poor attempt to curb inflation. Meanwhile oil companies have reported over $50 billion in third quarter profits exceeding expectations. Corporate greed is driving inflation.

@DaleStarkA10 She always had a meal for us. She took us to explore the world and gave me a love of travel. She believed In me. She worked hard to give us what she could. Here’s hoping I’m doing what I need to for them to feel all those things.

@Stepolopolis @CheriDiNovo @Sflecce Maybe we need to rethink the hours they work not-have so many breaks and days off… if I only worked that many days I wouldn’t make my full wage either.

So I know.. what honestly am I supporting.if 38k is what MOST r making. I’ll support this. But I’m going to need to see #

@mike_dickin @JBradshaw01 You’re right no one can afford to be off work right now, but CUPE education workers that make an average of 38k / yr are ready to be. What does that tell you?

Sadly, I predict that teachers unions will do nothing to support our CUPE comrades if (when) Ford and Lecce drop the legislation hammer, because they fear repercussions in their own negotiations. It’s a myth that unions are too powerful. #OntEd #onpoli.
