I think the median person wants to live in a Blue City, in a Red State, with a moderately D federal government.
Blue city invests in good parks and public spaces, the Red State has laissez faire pro growth policies, the D fed gov quietly provides popular safety net programs.

My issue with Catholicism isn’t confession itself, but confessing to an intermediary (Priest). I believe we can interact with God directly. I do appreciate a lot of the traditions and formality of the Catholic Church but that’s just a personal preference. I dislike Churches that embrace too much modernity.
