@mccready757 @dangermouse2 So dull, it caused a stink when I refused, I was told I had no respect for Scotland. As though all things Scottish must be great. Maybe she was a Nat, we called them Scottish nose pickers then, so very grown up we were!

@dangermouse2 @mccready757 To be fair I didn’t mean female teachers were crap but that one was, we also had a wonderful female Maths teacher. Some teachers are inspiring, some are awful and most are just there, in my experience.

@fatmogs1 @mccready757 I had two female English teachers, don’t know where they stood on feminism or anything political really but they were great teachers. MacBeth, Hamlet, 1984, Lord of The Flies they even made Burns come alive when we did Tam o Shanter. Not sure there are many of that ilk left.

@mccready757 @dangermouse2 I did Macbeth too, bloody loved Shakespeare, freak that I am. We had a fabulous teacher the year before who made it all magical, even TS Eliot. Then, like you, a dumb female teacher made us lose the will to live.

@TheGriftReport @juliammea This is what happens when we hand the responsibility of looking after our children to the State. It’s happening here with nursery workers yet no change in law, one home ed kid though and legislation is changed. Funny that.

THIS IS HORIFFIC Shocking French child abuse scandal: Criminal investigations now span 114 Paris nurseries and schools after children as young as three were allegedly raped, beaten, starved and locked in rooms by staff paid to protect them. The cases cover 84 nursery schools, around 20 primary schools and 10 crèches across all 20 arrondissements of the capital. At Paul-Dubois nursery alone, one youth worker faces 15 formal complaints. At Saint-Dominique nursery, 16 staff members (aged 18-68) were arrested in coordinated raids on 20 May. Paris City Hall has suspended 78 municipal employees, 31 of them on suspicion of sexual violence. At least one monitor is already in pre-trial detention. Paris chief prosecutor Laure Beccuau confirmed three formal judicial investigations have been opened. Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire has apologised and announced a €15.8 million emergency reform package with stricter vetting and inspections.

@RoyBertram4 @joannaccherry @theSNP The people of Scotland don’t want independence, no at referendum, no majority for the SNP, more unionist votes than indy ones. Respect democracy, Hitler knew people would be divided by referenda, that’s all they do, cause division.

@joannaccherry @theSNP Public enquiries are notoriously lengthy taking years & that is your vendetta objective, to keep this in the media for as long as possible aided by your new allies , the Yoons & their English media. Frankly you are doing more damage to independence & questionably intentional

It’s a poor show when no ScotGov minister will face the media after our Parliament has voted for another independence referendum. The scandal and corruption at the heart of @theSNP must be addressed before the cause of independence can advance. We need an independent inquiry.

@StuartLond23794 @glosswitch Maybe, and I hope you perpetuate that, but it is definitely still a thing. The irony for me is that I thought I wanted boys as my vast life experience was in a male environment. Our reality was that young boys are more whiny, more demanding and more pandered to. Not all but a lot

I must admit that it doesn't feel as if I personally have a dominant position over anyone, let alone women as a whole. At the same time, I accept you have a different perspective on male behaviour and that my personal experiences aren't necessarily typical of male attitudes and behaviour as a whole. Personally, I feel I was raised in a culture where women played a leading role, shaping male expectations and setting male behavioural standards. None of the women who had an important role in my life accepted that men were in any way superior to women and none of the men would seriously challenge this view. Maybe I was just lucky in this.

In Unkind, one of the areas I looked at was mothers of little girls being told to let little boys dominate play - to the point of wrecking things girls were building - because this was important for the boys' development and you had to let them express themselves >

The funny thing is I bet I have paid admission to or worked at more women's sports events than all my critics combined. There is so much just putrid reasoning here. The claim you can't be a fan of women's sports and support any sort of inclusion at any level is bereft of logic.

@iain4546 @1145paul @AnnieWells2026 The SNP AND others who thought they were supporting indy AND the taxpayer who has to foot the £2 million plus bill, AND the people of Scotland who had a husband and wife team, clearly not honest people, in charge of their country. The SNP facilitated this farce.

Peter Murrell has been granted legal aid after being charged with embezzlement, and there are now concerns Scottish taxpayers could end up footing the bill because the SNP still haven’t repaid the £60,000 they owe him. Let that sink in. At a time when families are struggling with the cost of living and public services are under huge pressure, taxpayers could now be paying for the consequences of the SNP’s financial scandal. The public deserve answers about why this money still hasn’t been repaid, who knew what at the top of the SNP, and why ordinary Scots should be expected to pick up the tab for this mess.

@v1cr @WingsScotland He’s protecting her, probably for a payback in a few years, he wouldn’t have done that if she threw him under the bus. I think did no comment because if she had accidentally incriminated him their deal would have been off and he’d have taken her down with him.

@WingsScotland Some posit that the reason she was not prosecuted is that she turned “king’s evidence” in exchange for immunity from prosecution. Would also explain Murrel’s immediate guilty plea.

Absolutely ridiculous. An annual children’s event has been cancelled because police now say a slow-moving taxi convoy is too difficult to manage. It beggars belief.

While arguing that Next can't afford to pay 16-24 year olds the minimum wage, CEO Lord Wolfson forgot to say that for the fiscal year ending January 2026, Next reported an operating profit of £1.236 billion, marking a 13.4% increase from the previous year. #r4today

@staylorish @LucyHunterB Plus, even if that was true, when the money went missing she bare-faced said she had looked and it was “intertwined”, she then went on to shut down any dissenters. Those are not the actions of a truth seeker, why didn’t she seek the truth, I wonder?

@WingsScotland So we’ve gone from “it wisnae me” to “shut the fuck up or there will be consequences” to “I’m the real victim”. Proper narcissistic behaviour. She’s a daft lassie from the scheme and now a millionaire on public money. Even the daft book only exists because of public money.

@StuartLond23794 @glosswitch I’m a mum of two girls and an engineer, you paint a nice picture but I could write a book on the sexism and misogyny there is in a male dominated world, it’s a bit better now but it has been relentless. Then I met boys, when my kids were small and I can see how it starts.

Actually a highly stereotypical and functionally very poor model of male behavior which non-pathological males typically learn to mitigate at an early age as an essential part of their social and emotional development. With some culturally determined exceptions, male social etiquette typically emphasises behaviour that reduces the likelihood of physical conflict with other males and strongly opposes male violence towards females. In workplace contexts, males who emphasise the use of coercive interpersonal strategies are likely to perform much less effectively over the medium and long term than those who foster collaborative working relationships.

@planebottle @glosswitch I have two girls and they were never told to let boys trash their stuff but they did anyway, 99% of the time their behaviour is excused by parents and teachers so the girls watch and learn just to let them do it. I had no idea how bad it was until I had daughters.

@CaptainCoriolis @laura_pollock_ They’re like toddlers, you say no and they whine on forever. If we did spend another £18 million on another pointless referendum and it was another no they would still go on and on, if it was a yes then, for fairness, the no voters would need another go like they had. Tedious.
