Love seeing @ns making headlines… yeah, but no… Tbh, I’m not understanding this conspiracy theory around immigration laws. You enter the country like the most normal visitor according to your status, visa requirements, passport, nationality, country of origin, etc. Then you head to a hotel like the most normal visitor with the same status, visa requirements, passport, nationality, country of origin, etc. The hotel just happens to be the Marina Hotel in Forest City, where NS is located. That’s all! @ns is not in the business of immigration surveillance. If you arrived there, it means you were let into the country by the official authorities, and they did their due diligence according to the laws they are there to enforce. And I don’t know about you, but this should be pretty undebatable, right? 🤷♀️

This is kind of funny because I’ve been there and there’s no Isrealis there. I struggle to even remember more than 2 American Jews out of the several hundred people there.

Demis Hassabis is calling for the US to establish a Frontier AI Standards Body to 'conduct testing in areas relevant to national security'. Frontier Labs would initially voluntarily submit Frontier Models (thresholds for these two terms to be determined) for a 30 day review prior to release. Once standards are formalized, Frontier Models would be required to pass assessment by this body to be deployed in the US market.
Organizations deemed Frontier Labs by the body will be 'encouraged to adopt best practices, such as publishing model cards with technical details, maintaining strong internal cybersecurity, vetting key personnel, and providing sufficient resourcing for safety and security research, and more.'
