no hate here, but new-age stablechain valuations really need to be studied going forward. arc raised $222m at a $3b valuation. tempo raised $500m at a $5b valuation. meanwhile, the largest stablechain by fdv @plasma is sitting around $1b. don’t even mention @stable, that’s obviously a skem chain. so what exactly are they benchmarking to justify these valuations? either the current tokens are undervalued or these new ones are overvalued. i guess the market will settle the debate eventually.

Circle (the company behind USDC) just announced that they raised $222M USD for their ARC token at a $3B USD valuation. ARC is their L1 blockchain. What do we think guys, will we see an airdrop or an ICO here? If yes, how can we position ourselves

My conversation with @KeoneHon. As the Cofounder of Monad, Keone is relentlessly focused on building a credibly neutral foundation for developers, actively resisting the crypto Twitter pressure to verticalize for short-term revenue. He and his team are doing the hard, ground-up engineering required to eliminate the technical debt of the EVM. We spend a lot of time unpacking the specific breakthroughs enabling Monad's performance, from fundamentally re-architecting storage trees with MIP-8 to the massive, often-overlooked importance of optimizing the read layer. At the center of it is a belief that true scaling requires turning the dial on both higher performance and cheaper hardware requirements to maximize throughput per unit of compute. We discuss: - Why building a robust ecosystem is more important than verticalizing for Day 1 revenue - Hyperliquid, Appchains, and the true value of a credibly neutral base layer -MIP-8, re-architecting storage trees, and unlocking massive EVM performance upgrades - The unsung importance of the "Read Layer" and making RPCs developer-friendly - Multiple Concurrent Leaders (MCP) and mitigating the impact of MEV - Why "stablecoin-only" chains will inevitably have to pivot to general-purpose DeFi Enjoy! Can I say something without everyone getting mad? Solana founders historically were warriors and would do anything to win. Too many teams got comfortable, vesting or whatever. I don’t disregard anyone’s efforts, but today there is too much entitlement. You are owed nothing, and you know nothing, Jon Snow.

I hate to be the one to say this, but please--no more manifestos. They've made great progress on this in the last year. What people want to see from the EF is less manifesting, more shipping.

"The Ethereum Foundation Mandate" generated a lot of fuss and critique. I really don't understand why. The @ethereumfndn is a non-profit. Remember this. It makes sense for it to focus on vision, values and stewardship. I think its goals (censorship resistant, open source, private, and secure--CROPS) make sense. While other blockchain's seek to differentiate with cheap and efficient throughput/transactions per second, etc...for Ethereum, its robustness, censorship resistance, neutrality and decentralization that serve as its moat. These are not easy to replicate, and in my mind, are a primary source of value in the network and the token. There is no "Ethereum Labs". This makes sense, too. Instead, there are plenty of public and private companies (@Consensys, @Etherealize_io, @BitMNR, @Sharplink, @TheEtherMachine, etc) that seek to drive commercial outcomes across the ecosystem for its users. So, let the non-profit be a non-profit. And let the builders build.

@mert When it comes to the blockchains that tokenized equities trade on, do you think this becomes a winner-takes-all market?

my intuition is that tokenized stocks will follow the same path as stablecoins there will be concerns around what they are actually backed by (similar to tether back in the day) but fundamentally they will increase access for so many people that the feature set will end up being superior to stocks held via a brokerage through competition

@flymetothe23 @rustbond @intern If I were Keone, I would play the decentralization game to get ETH apps to move, then upgrade the byte code to focus more on HFT. Otherwise, value accrual is cooked. The market isn't rewarding decentralization right now it wants revenues.

Podcasting is a tough business You run out of interesting people to talk to. Then you kind of devolve into "the current thing" just to stay relevant If there were infinite interesting people, it would be an easier game

Is it just me or did Lex Friedman just like, disappear? He seemed artificially everywhere but maybe after the election at some point he was just no longer needed so they just, turned off his reach? Did his psyop loose funding from USAID? Like where’d bro go?

@LoganJastremski @rustbond @intern Hm I see. Is this just a matter of them not prioritizing? Or are there structural/design issues that prevent monad from focusing on execution (HFT) vs sol and apt?

@flymetothe23 @rustbond I spoke with @intern about this They're what Ethereum would have been and what Tempo will become, but the focus needs to be on execution (HFT) not decentralization for the sake of decentralization
