New research from our lab showing the importance of studying several cells types types in parallel when investigating potential therapeutic options against SARS-CoV-2.
Doherty Institute@TheDohertyInst

New research uses heart and lung stem cells infected with #SARSCoV2 to better understand how #COVID19 impacts different organs, paving the way for more targeted treatments.  Published by @stemcellreports in collab with @MCRI_for_kids doherty.edu.au/news-events/ne… @UniMelbMDHS @TheRMH

The Subbarao lab @TheDohertyInst @UniMelbMDHS has developed stem cell derived lung🫁, heart🫀, kidney and placental organoids to study #SARSCoV2 infection 🦠 and test antivirals 💊. 🎥🫀cardiac cultures contracting. 🦠 infection stops this contraction and kills cardiac cells.

New paper out (previously in preprint) from @jess_sci_chang and team looking at changes in polyadenylation of host genes following SARS-Cov-2 infection as well as differential transcript usage , using @nanopore frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

New preprint alert! Interested in how inflammation is triggered in COVID-19? Us too… so we asked why macrophages aren’t infected with SARS-CoV-2 and why they don’t trigger an anti-viral and pro-inflammatory response. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… A thread… 🧵

Sunny in Naarm, have a great day! Yep our lab is just catching up on our Nasi Lemak tour of the Parkville Precinct - shocked though that A&W root beer is a divisive taste 💁🏻‍♀️

Yeah but was it really an earthquake I mean how much can we trust these seismologists anyway. I’ve read articles about seismologists who’ve been silenced about the real earthquakes that occur that the government tries to keep quiet
